Sir Trevor McDonald has paid tribute to his former colleague Sandy Gall following his death aged 97. 00:05And around his work, ITN was able to build an enormous reputation.

00:11He travelled the world, he covered wars, he covered political upheavals.

00:17And he knew the people involved, he interacted with the people involved.

00:21And then he came back and he read the news, News at 10, as one of the presenters.

00:27And what he said, people believed.

00:29He gave ITN and News at 10 its credibility.

00:33When Sandy Gould said something, everybody believed it.
