00:00My name's Mark Thorburn and, well, I say and something.
00:03My name's Mark Thorburn and I'm the TikTok funny guy.
00:07And this is my Glasgow best-of.
00:09Favourite restaurant? Right, this is a hard one because I'm not loyal to any particular restaurant.
00:13I think Glasgow's got lots of good ones, so it depends on the cuisine.
00:17But one that I love to go to for the vibes, for the space, is Braille.
00:22It's got fire pits, it's got a big sunny hill, it's cosy in winter, it's sunny in summer.
00:27And, yeah, the food's good, so I'd say probably Braille.
00:31But, for takeaway, Piatto in Shorlands.
00:36It's Italian street food, it's amazing.
00:38It's perfect if you're hungover, it's perfect for date night, it's perfect for pals, it's perfect for the park.
00:43Love Piatto.
00:44Favourite pub? I love a night out. I'm always out.
00:48So, again, I feel bad naming one and not others.
00:51Again, it depends. If I'm in the south side, I love Allie Arms, I love Sweeney's.
00:55If I'm in the west end, I love Vodka, Vodka.
00:57One that I love is Maxi's Bar.
00:59It's an all-rounder. It's open till 3am as well, and I love a late night out.
01:04Favourite cafe?
01:05This has been my favourite cafe for years, and I've never spoke about it, cos I don't want people to go to it.
01:11But, for the first time ever, I'm happy to announce that my favourite cafe is G5 Deli.
01:17Nobody's ever really heard of it, but it's so good.
01:20I love to do meal deals, but you get, like, a full panini, like, a snack, a drink for, like, three quid.
01:25The staff are lovely. It's so good.
01:28But don't go. Just don't go.
01:30Favourite venue would have to be Sub Club.
01:33I'm a little subby fanboy.
01:35I'm going to the Sub Club rooftop party this weekend.
01:40Hopefully the weather's out for it, but either way, I'll be dancing with a drink in my hand.
01:43Favourite building?
01:44This is easy to me.
01:45It's the Riverside Museum.
01:47It is so cool.
01:49And the fact it's got a ship next to it.
01:52Aye, it's just a cool building.
01:53It looks like little sound waves on the top.
01:55It's got a ship next to it.
01:57Favourite musical artist?
01:58This is, yeah, I was going to say, is it Glasgow-based?
02:00Of course it is.
02:01My favourite Glasgow-based artist would have to be Franz Ferdinand.
02:07And I think they're playing Glastonbury this weekend, so that'll be good to see.
02:11Good Glasgow boys up in the Glastonbury main stage.
02:14Favourite neighbourhood?
02:16It's got a soft spot in my heart.
02:17It's Shawlands.
02:18I did a year and a half stint in Shawlands, and it was fun dabbling in avocado toast for
02:27like a year and a half.
02:27That was fun.
02:28I went to a cafe and I baked tatty, it was ÂŁ12.50.
02:30So they do need to nip in the bud a wee bit, Shawlands.
02:35But again, love the Ali Arms, I love Sweeney's, I love Queen's Park.
02:39I think that's the best park in Glasgow.
02:40I think my Glasgow hero has to be Libby.
02:44The man, he'll go down in history, genuinely.
02:47I think we've got a bit of a Billy Connolly on our hands.
02:51He's a bit of a national treasure now, but when that man demises, I think the streets will
02:56go dark for a few days.
02:57And there'll be candles on folks' windows.
02:59And there'll be candles on folks' windows.
