00:04After Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy, June 27th,

00:11the former Today Show host is reacting to the lavish celebration.

00:17Commenting on an Instagram post featuring Vogue's photo shoot of Lauren in her wedding dress, Katie writes,

00:23Welcome to the 80s, when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently, Tacky is back.

00:31And while the criticism may seem a bit harsh, many online users actually agree with Katie,

00:37with one person writing,

00:39Spot on. Money can't buy you class.

00:43And another chiming in,

00:44I love this side of Katie Couric.

00:47So while social media users may not be in love with Lauren's look for her big day,

00:52the bride-to-be certainly was.

00:55With the 55-year-old telling Vogue in an interview published June 27th,

01:00I feel like a princess.

01:02It is a departure from what people expect, from what I expect,

01:06but it's very much me.

01:08I mean, it's so elegant, it's timeless.

01:11Lauren then revealed the inspiration behind the Dolce & Gabbana corseted lace dress,

01:17I researched pictures of brides in the 1950s.

01:21I wanted to reflect back,

01:23and I saw Sophia Loren,

01:25and she was in high lace up to the neck.

01:27And I said,

01:28That's it.

01:29That's the dress.
