00:00Paraguayan Olympic swimmer Luana Alonso is the latest athlete to be kicked out of the Olympic Village.
00:06In a statement by Larissa Scherer, the head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee to the U.S. Sun,
00:11the 20-year-old athlete is being accused of creating a, quote, inappropriate atmosphere.
00:17Per the outlet, the statement also reads, quote,
00:19we thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will
00:23that she did not spend the night in the athlete's village.
00:27E! News has reached out to the committee for comment, but has not yet heard back.
00:31While it's unclear what type of inappropriate behavior she's accused of, according to local media reports,
00:36Luana spent a night out in Paris and went to Disneyland rather than staying to support teammates
00:41after finishing sixth in the 100-meter butterfly heat.
00:45Shortly after the race, Luana announced her retirement from the sport on Instagram.
00:49She wrote in her post, quote,
00:50it's official, I'm retiring from swimming, thank you all so much for your support.
00:54She adds, quote, sorry, Paraguay, I just have to say thank you.
00:58Luana shared an emotional message in a follow-up post, writing, quote,
01:02swimming, thank you for allowing me to dream.
01:04You taught me to fight, to try, perseverance, sacrifice, discipline, and many more things.
01:10She's not the only Olympian who is causing a splash at the Paris Olympics.
01:15Brazilian swimmer Ana Carolina Vieira was dismissed from the summer games
01:18after being reprimanded for leaving the Olympic Village with her teammate and boyfriend Gabriel Santos
01:23on Friday, July 26th, without clearing it with the team.
01:27The Brazilian Olympic Committee says in a statement that the head of the swim team
01:30discovered the infraction after Ana posted photos on social media.
01:35As a 22-year-old explained in an Instagram video, she, quote,
01:38received a lot of negative messages, but also a lot of positive messages,
01:42mainly from the people that know me.
01:43She reassured her fans that she is as okay as I can be,
01:47but was very saddened by the whole experience.
01:49She says, quote,
01:50I was going to swim one more competition,
01:52but I'll continue to cheer on everyone that is still there.
01:55The whole crew that is still competing, cheer for Team Brazil.
01:58I'll continue to cheer for Team Brazil.
