00:04Brooke Highland is sharing an update on her mom Kelly's health journey.

00:09Dance Moms alum Brooke Highland shares that her mother Kelly is undergoing open-heart surgery

00:14just two months after completing her second round of treatment for breast cancer.

00:19The 27-year-old shares details about her mom's health in this June 24th TikTok video.

00:25She has a TikTok, but she doesn't like to post, so I figured I would update you guys

00:29so you know what's going on and you can send all of your prayers her way.

00:33Kelly, who shares Brooke, Josh, and Paige with ex-husband Randy Highland,

00:38is preparing for a variety of possible approaches from doctors

00:41to treat what Brooke refers to in her video as a leaking heart.

00:46She was originally supposed to have surgery on Friday, but now she has to go in tomorrow.

00:51They are hoping to go in robotically, but if they aren't able to reach her heart,

00:56then they will have to go in the traditional way.

00:59Her heart is currently leaking.

01:02Brooke, who appeared on Dance Moms from 2011 until 2014 alongside her mom and sister,

01:09goes on to detail what her family has been told about Kelly's heart condition.

01:14And I think she's had a few different opinions from doctors.

01:16Some say that she's had it since she was younger and her valve just doesn't close properly.

01:20Others have said that it might be a side effect of the cancer because it could be a tear.

01:26I don't really know.

01:28She's getting it fixed.

01:29Thankfully, some of the scans she had gotten for her cancer actually showed that she had this,

01:35which is a blessing.
