00:00And so you, you played it and here's where I want to start kind of chatting
00:04about Ryder cup is if you are, I mean, I want some course notes,
00:09but really I'm intrigued to, to, for your takeaways as to immediately,
00:14is there a profile player that stands out or like a specific guy where you're
00:18like, this guy's going to feast on this place or on the flip side,
00:21is there a guy or a profile player? It's like, man,
00:24I know this person's high in the standings, but not so sure. They're going to,
00:28they're going to be a fit here at Beth age.
00:30Well, it was really fun to play. I was, I was excited to check it out.
00:36Obviously, you know,
00:37going to be working the coverage for NBC in September and, you know,
00:42just being back and playing the golf course. Of course I played in 2016 at the
00:49Northern trust. So it had been, you know, close to 10 years since I've been back.
00:53My memories were that the rough was thick that week.
00:57The golf course was hard, but it wasn't like this overly,
01:01this like Oakmont type of heart where these bunkers are just like situated,
01:06very, you know, on the edges of the fairways, not like this crazy,
01:10narrow golf course. There's some room off the tee, which I had enjoyed.
01:14I think it's the sign. I think it's really the sign that gets everyone.
01:18They see the sign. It's like, it's like almost like a sign, you know,
01:21you see like on a Jaws movie or something, you're like,
01:22I can't play this golf course, but, but really it's interesting.
01:26Cause that's not an uncommon take that I've heard from people.
01:29Yeah. And I remember there being more slope in the greens,
01:35uh, at least the first shoot, the front nine,
01:39the greens didn't have nearly as much slope as I remembered. I,
01:42I thought they were much more undulated than they were. Um,
01:47I believe it's a tilling house design. If I'm not mistaken, is that true?
01:50I believe that is correct. Yes. Um, anyways, the,
01:53the fairways, uh,
01:56we're actually widened a little bit in some spots, uh,
01:59as last year Keegan. Um, and I, maybe it was just,
02:03I'm not sure if it's just Keegan, but, uh,
02:05the U S obviously gets to set up the golf course the way they want.
02:09And based on what I could tell him and talking with some, uh,
02:12caddies that were there is that they're definitely going for a little bit of a
02:16wider fairway rough. That's not nearly as long as it typically is enough to
02:20where it's, it's a penalty, but not,
02:22not going to like cause you to not get to the green type of penalty.
02:26So they want scoring, which is how, you know,
02:28they set it up at Hazeltine.
02:30Was it probably the best example that I can give you is, is,
02:33is a, uh, kind of a bombers type of paradise for the most part,
02:36a lot of birdies. So, uh,
02:38that was my impression is that I think a player that has length off the T is
02:44going to be a huge, huge, um, um, asset to either of these teams.
02:50I think, uh, you'll see a lot of putts hold, uh,
02:54from that 15 foot plus range,
02:57which you always kind of see in Ryder cups,
02:59but I definitely think you're going to see some, some putts hold.
03:02Like I was, I feel like you can make any putt from anywhere on the green,
03:06which is a lot of fun for, uh, for the TV broadcast.
03:10So, uh, so you have, uh, putters that, you know,
03:14can get hot from that mid range.
03:15I think the, the length off the T is important.
03:19And the thing that I didn't like as from playing it,
03:24I did not like the bunkers, the bunkers, the sand and the bunkers were,
03:29it was like very, very heavy sand.
03:32And it doesn't appear that way when you look at it,
03:35but I found it to be very challenging to play out of.
03:38It's not a type of sand that you would be able to spend a whole lot in this.
03:42You're not picking a player based off of their bunker game on how they play in
03:46heavy sand.
03:46I'm just letting you know that I struggled out of it.
03:49That's fine.
