दिल्ली, 25 जून 2025, एएनआई: भाजपा सांसद संबित पात्रा ने कहा, "...आज से 50 वर्ष पहले आपातकाल के रूप में देश के लोकतंत्र पर हमला हुआ था। यह 50वां साल है जब देश पर इंदिरा गांधी की सरकार, कांग्रेस पार्टी ने आपातकाल लगाया था... आज भाजपा समग्र भारतवर्ष में इस विषय को ध्यान में रखते हुए, इसे काला दिवस के रूप में प्रस्तुत कर रही है। ऐसे में कांग्रेस पार्टी की बौखलाहट हमें दिखाई दे रही है। कांग्रेस पार्टी के अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने जिस भाषा में देश के प्रधानमंत्री के लिए शब्द कहे हैं, वह निंदनीय है... कांग्रेसियों को पता नहीं है कि आम हिंदुस्तानियों ने इमरजेंसी के दौरान किस प्रकार के कष्टों और यातनाओं को सहा था। लगभग 1.5 लाख लोग रातों-रात जेलों में भर दिए गए थे... कई लोगों ने अपने ऊपर हुई यातनाओं के कारण मृत्यु का वरण किया... ऐसे में हमारा दायित्व है कि हम ना केवल भारतवर्ष को बल्कि आगामी पीढ़ी को भी इस विषय से अवगत कराएं और यह भूल दोबारा दोहराई ना जाए... जिस प्रकार का व्यवहार मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने आज किया है मुझे लगता है कि यह भी लोकतंत्र का मखौल उड़ाना है... आप स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के समय की बात कर सकते हैं तो हम उस(आपातकाल) समय की बात क्यों नहीं कर सकते?... केवल और केवल एक व्यक्ति की महत्वकांक्षाओं के कारण आपातकाल लगाया गया था क्योंकि कोर्ट ने इंदिरा गांधी के चुनाव को निरस्त किया था। सत्ता में बने रहने के लिए बिना कैबिनेट के इंदिरा गांधी ने आपातकाल लगाया था..."
