New Delhi, June 25, 2025 (ANI): On Axiom 4 mission, Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green said, “India is coming of age as a player in space. You look back decades to when space was a province for countries like the United States and the Soviet Union. Now it's much more varied, and we see that India is one of the truly fastest-growing countries in space. Our country is too... we congratulate India on all its successes.”

00:00Australia and India are natural partners in space.
00:04We are now strategically aligned as nations
00:08and both focused on the opportunities in space.
00:12Our interests are complementary.
00:14Australia is a large country with very few people
00:18which means we have dark skies
00:20and very huge capabilities for launch
00:23as well as strong tracking capabilities.
00:26It was Australian tracking facilities
00:28that first got that message from the Gaganyan space capsule
00:33right there on the South Pole of the Moon.
00:35So there is huge possibility between us
00:39and here we have represented three of our six states
00:43including the Governor of the State of South Australia
00:46to demonstrate how keen we are to engage with India.
00:49And there's a particular message we have
00:52that Sydney, Australia will be hosting
00:55the International Astronomical Congress
00:57in just three months and we're welcoming Indian delegates
01:00to see what that has to offer
01:02to engage with the Australian side
01:04but also the whole space community of the world
01:07that will be gathered in our great city of Sydney.
01:10So one more question.
01:11Action Mission 4 is set to be launched today.
01:14How do you see India's participation and what do you like to see on that?
01:17Well, this is a natural development, isn't it?
01:20I mean, you know, India is coming of age as a player in space.
01:24You know, you look back decades to when space was a province
01:29for countries like the United States and the Soviet Union.
01:33Now it's much more varied and we see that India
01:36is one of the truly fastest growing countries in space.
01:39Our country is too.
01:40By the way, our space industry is growing at 10% year on year per annum.
01:45But we congratulate India on all its success
01:48and we look forward to a further measure of that success today with Axia.
