00:00India is spending over 500 crore rupees to send group captain Shubhanshu Shukla to space.
00:04But why?
00:05So, Exxium Space is not a government organization.
00:07India had to pay them money to basically train their astronaut and send him to space and bring him back.
00:12Experts view India's space spending not as an expenditure,
00:15but as a strategic investment in the nation's space future.
00:17Now, why?
00:18Because one, we are developing our Gaganyan system.
00:22Whatever we learn from this mission.
00:24So, this will be hands-on experience for Shubhanshu Shukla,
00:27who is also part of the Gaganyan mission.
00:28He is one of the astronaut designates for Gaganyan mission.
00:31So, whatever he'll learn, he'll basically come back and it will be fed into the Gaganyan system as well.
00:37The Indian investment covers not only group captain Shubhanshu Shukla, but also a designated backup.
00:41Shubhanshu Shukla is the primary astronaut.
00:43There is also a backup astronaut, group captain P. Balakrishnan Nair.
00:47So, Exxium Space is taking care of both the astronauts in terms of their training, their daily regime,
00:52their preparedness for going to space and returning.
