New Delhi, June 24 (ANI): On her upcoming film 'Maa', actress Kajol, says "The first day that the child is born in this world is the first day that the mother is born in the world as well. It's her first day as a mother as well as the child's first day on Earth, and that's something that, maybe nobody realises or gives enough weightage to... I think the way children look upto their moms is like, she is a God. And, you have to become a God for that. You have to do superhuman things like not sleeping for 6 months... You have to be Superwoman for that, and I think all mothers gain the characteristics of a superwoman."
00:00Congratulations for the movie and the trailer is really intriguing and we are your fans,
00:06we are looking forward for the film movies in the theatre. So speaking about the movie,
00:14it's your debut in a modest film. Yeah, I'm having a debut after so long.
00:18And it's about math, and you know the movie from other films for children. So I want to ask,
00:29what's the scariest part, like that pre-handling the mood swings of the teenagers?
00:35Ah, definitely. In real life, I would say handling the mood swings of the teenagers for sure,
00:42no two ways about it. But in real life, I think it's about a mother's protective instinct
00:51that is raised when you see that your child is threatened. And that's something that I think
00:58is a base instinct in everybody, every parent across the globe. I wouldn't say that it only
01:04belongs to mothers everywhere. It belongs to everyone everywhere, every parent everywhere.
01:09whenever you see that, you know, there is something that is going to hurt your child
01:15or harm your child in any which way, you automatically feel the need to, you know,
01:20that androoni shakti nikalti hai aur suddenly ap superwoman ban jate ho, you know, kuch ajeeb sa,
01:28ye badlav a jata hai ap mein. Toh, kahani jo hai, the story is about evil versus faith.
01:38And that is the crux of the film, basically.
01:42And now the movie blends mythology and horror.
01:46Yes. Yeah.
01:47So what was the most exciting part for you, like the mythology one or the horror one that
01:53you said yes to the project?
01:55I said yes to the project based on the fact that it was a story. It's one of my favourite
02:02stories actually of Kalima and Rakta Beej. So what would happen if it came into today's day and time?
02:08What would be the result of it? And I said yes on the, on that basis, but then it became a horror
02:19later. And so yeah, that's how I accepted the film. The horror came later. But the story, the script,
02:28all of the, the way we have put it together, all of that came first.
02:32I think that there is a huge tradition in our country of, I wouldn't call them myths so much as an oral,
02:44oral culture really. So it's storytelling is a huge part of our culture.
02:57So these are things that, you know, ideas create, they create, they create,
03:11these things that, you know, they, ideas create,
03:17you know, this, you know, things that,
03:20they can just create,
03:25ideas create good ideas have a certain belief behind them and that belief has
03:32its own power as we know so I think yeah I think that we have a lot of all these
03:39old customs as you call it or rituals they have a lot of power because we have
03:44believed in them and we continue to believe in them
04:00no no we really only have two hours in the morning so you have to go and make the
04:27I think as a parent, yes, you have to protect them and but my children are much older now.
04:37My children are not so small.
04:39I have learned a lot of them.
04:42So now I have to accept my parents.
04:46Look, I have learned so long.
04:48You have to learn your lesson and to practice it now.
04:53And the only thing that you can do as a parent, as for teenagers, I would say is to listen to them and to see, to just sit down and listen to them.
05:08Sometimes just listening to them makes them also see your point of view and makes you also see their point of view.
05:15.
05:16.
05:17.
05:18.
05:22.
05:23How do you define this characteristic of a mother?
05:29.
05:30So I'll go so far as to say the first day that the child is born in this world.
05:36is the first day that the mother is born in this world is the first day that the mother is born in the world as well.
05:43So it's her first day as a mother, as well as the child's first day on earth.
05:44And that's something that maybe nobody realizes or gives enough weightage to.
05:50She's stumbling through and doing her best.
05:53And at the same time, moms have to show the world that they know that what they're doing, that they understand everything.
05:56.
05:57.
05:58.
05:59.
06:00.
06:01.
06:02.
06:03.
06:23.
06:24.
06:25I think the way children look up to their moms is like, she is a god.
06:30.
06:31.
06:32.
06:33.
06:34.
06:35.
06:36.
06:37.
06:38.
06:39.
06:52.
06:53.
06:54.
06:55.
07:07.
07:08.
07:09.
07:10.
07:11.
07:12.
07:13.
07:14.
07:15.
07:16.
07:17.
07:18.
07:19I think the most vulnerable phase of a mother is probably the initial three,
07:35four, you know, three, four months, I would say three, four, five months till, you know,
07:41the baby starts probably eating properly or whatever, because that's, like I said, it's
07:46your training round, it's the baby's training round, it's, it's training round for your routine,
07:53all of it to come into place and also for, it's also how you will be seen eventually.
