00:00And Tesla have finally rolled out their long-awaited robo-taxis, which appeared on the roads of Austin, Texas this weekend.
00:08Tesla posted videos of invited guests who included influencers, shareholders and analysts to test ride out these new Teslas.
00:19Tesla CEO Elon Musk has congratulated the AI and chip design team for the decade of hard work.
00:27OK, so there we are. What do you make of these robo-taxis, Gemma? And would you go on one?
00:35I don't actually know anything about them. I'm sorry.
00:38Robo-taxis.
00:42So we had this discussion earlier. Michael and I are on complete opposite sides of the coin here.
00:47I don't use ChatGPT.
00:49OK.
00:50And I barely use self-service checkouts at the supermarket, both of which you're a huge fan of.
00:56So I actually disagree with the concept of the robo-taxi on kind of ideological grounds.
01:05I see driving as it's a huge job worldwide, whether you're delivering packages or people or food.
01:15It's a job that has quite sort of low barrier to entry.
01:20It's a job that we see people make careers out of.
01:23But also in the U.S. as well with the economy crunch, we're seeing teachers become drivers on the weekends,
01:30you know, become drivers in the evenings doing DoorDash, doing deliveries to make extra money.
01:34And so I just see this as chipping away at a job that so many people do worldwide and whether that is their career or it's their safety net.
01:46So I can only see this as Musk, the billionaire, chipping away at more jobs.
01:53That is that's how I see it.
01:55I'm not his biggest fan anyway.
01:57Would I get him one?
01:59No, I don't think any kind of self-driving has yet proven its safety worth.
02:05No, I don't think any kind of self-driving has yet proven its safety worth.
