00:00Yeah, see, today was a very important event, celebration of the World Wi-Fi Day.
00:08Today is 24th. Actually, World Wi-Fi Day is supposed to be on 20th, but every year we celebrate around that day.
00:16And in particular circumstances today of government having recently launched 500 megawatts of D-licensed spectrum,
00:286 gigawatts spectrum, that has been in the sort of works for the last three, four years.
00:36And it's a great step, probably the first step and more such towards that area, towards that direction.
00:44And this is going to help innovation, R&D, and connectivity for high data applications.
01:00Today, everybody is wanting applications which are more and more data intensive.
01:04And you all know that 5G and 6G are based on high-frequency waves.
01:10So those waves cannot penetrate into buildings.
01:14So buildings, connectivity within buildings are not optimum.
01:19So you cannot use those apps well.
01:23That is why for a Sony PlayStation, for example, is not launched in India.
01:27That's why the Metaglass cannot work in India, because the current frequencies are all older generation.
01:33Now, we have had this done by government.
01:37It's a really breakthrough, a historic step.
01:41And this will make more of such modern things happen.
01:46In effect, by doing this 6G Wi-Fi, we are now ready for the most advanced Wi-Fi.
01:54In mobile, we are in 5G, going to be in 6G by 2030.
02:00But we are not even in 4G in mobile, in Wi-Fi.
02:05This 6 GHz is going to enable the 5G or 5G plus of Wi-Fi.
02:12You can take it that way in layman terms.
02:16And so this is a great event.
02:18This is also a great event because we talked of many other things about bridging the digital divide in India.
02:25Over 40% of the people are still unconnected.
02:29Connected is not today on voice.
02:31People want, everybody wants data.
02:33And that data connectivity, net connectivity, is not there for millions and millions, probably for 500 million or so or more.
02:45So that will become possible with more of 6G Wi-Fi, more of proliferation of Wi-Fi, which the minister committed to and which the industry is very interested in,
02:55which will help uplift the rural people.
02:59See, entire thrust today has to be the consuming public, the layman, the amadhi.
03:06That is the requirement.
03:08Not go more and more upmarket.
03:10Upmarket is already saturated, super saturated.
03:13We want more connectivity at the ground level.
03:17And that is what we were so excited about, this action.
03:25And we are all working for that.
03:28This is what we spoke about today.
03:30Several key messages in this, connected with this, the historic innovation, which is unique to India, which is PM1E,
03:42That is going to be crucial for connecting the unconnected, for making it available in all public places, community centers, everywhere.
03:52And that also we spoke about today.
03:54Minister spoke about, we all spoke about.
03:57Satcom also he referred to.
03:59So we are, everything is geared towards connecting everybody in every nook and corner.
04:07Because, why Satcom is also relevant today, when you talk about connecting the unconnected areas.
04:13Despite mobile having done a great job, we are not able to go to certain places.
04:19You can't roll out.
04:20There is no economic viability there.
04:22But Satcom waves are going waste.
04:26Public doesn't realize that.
04:28Satcom waves are going waste over those areas.
04:31All we have to do is grab them and make them work for connecting.
04:36That's the sort of thing.
04:38I'd like to congratulate everyone.
04:40This is a day when we must force to celebrate an invisible form of a technology that creates visible change.
04:52And that is the power of Wi-Fi.
04:54The Prime Minister's very forward-thinking resolve, started by the new project of PM Wani, to connect every single citizen across the length and breadth of our country by Wi-Fi.
05:11As a power that will ensure entrepreneurship to rise, not only from the cities of India, but from the villages of India.
05:19Department of Telecommunications, by delicensing lower 6 GHz for Wi-Fi has provided that catalyst for ultra-low latency, for multi-gigabit speed, for access to a digital highway.
05:36And on World Wi-Fi day, we must commit ourselves to the proliferation, both in width and depth of this technology, down to the grassroots of India to create multiple opportunities for our citizens.
