Dual 5G network: meeting to be held next week

A meeting on the dual 5G network model is expected to be held within the next week, said Fahmi Fadzil.  The Communications Minister told the media on Tuesday (March 26) that he has asked for the joint task force on 5G to be convened and there will be some discussions on the matter. 00:10 Yeah, we were at 80.2% in December.

00:13 So, I know why it's going to be 0.1%?

00:17 Because our national target had been to reach 80%.

00:20 And then everything beyond that is a plus.

00:23 So, with 80%, that was what was set up in the contractual arrangements between DNB and Ericsson, for example.

00:32 So, that was the target.

00:33 Speaking of DNB, what's the current update on the full network?

00:37 I'm here to understand that there's going to be some discussions.

00:40 I've asked for the joint taskforce on 5G to be convened.

00:45 We will be having a discussion, myself, the MOF and also the digital ministry.

00:53 The digital ministry oversees the day-to-day aspects of the running of DNB,

00:58 while the communications ministry looks at the overall landscape with regards to spectrum, infrastructure, towers.

01:08 When do you expect to see the meeting?

01:11 We need to convene the meeting first, and then we will be appraised of the current situation.

01:16 So, we expect to have the meeting within this next one year.
