00:00The family of Ellis Cox have called on the community to help them get justice on the first anniversary of his murder.
00:07Ellis, aged just 19, was fatally shot on Sunday 23rd of June last year at Liver Industrial Estate in Aintree.
00:14An extensive investigation is ongoing to find the people responsible.
00:18A number of people have been arrested in connection to the murder, but no one has been charged.
00:23Ellis' family have arranged for a number of digital screens across the city to display the appeal for information.
00:31Paying tribute to Ellis, his family said,
00:34Ellis was our whole world, a gentle giant so kind and caring, his family was everything to him.
00:40We don't know how to fully express our love for him as it's immeasurable,
00:44and losing him is something we will never recover from.
00:48It's difficult for us to explain the indescribable pain we are going through each day,
00:54knowing we don't get to hug him, laugh with him and watch him make his way in the world.
00:59Everything hurts in a way words can't fully reach.
01:02Nothing feels the same without him, and our family is just so lost and broken.
01:07We're just existing, trying to get through each day, and we will keep fighting for justice
01:12until those responsible for taking him from us are caught,
01:15and we will continue to appeal to our city to help us before any more of our children are taken from us
01:21in the most unimaginable way, as we wouldn't wish this on anyone.
01:25Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath, the Senior Investigating Officer, said,
01:30we are certain that people out there have information about who took Ellis from his family.
01:35If anyone out there is keeping information to themselves,
01:38I ask you to consider what Ellis' family have gone through.
