00:06Sustainability has always been a very important aspect of the 52 Super Series
00:12but I think lately it's been getting a bit more momentum.
00:20There's quite a few different things that we do.
00:22One of them that we've been doing for years actually is the food pickup
00:26because all the teams get their lunches on board and snacks
00:30and then at the end of the day there's often quite a lot of food left over
00:33and we don't want that going to waste.
00:35So we donate the food to either families in need or some local organisations.
00:42We also have a water dispenser that is travelling with the fleet
00:46so there's no single-use plastic bottles allowed in the fleet
00:49and all the teams are just using the water filtration system.
00:53There's also other little things that all teams are doing
00:57and then we also have a Sustainability Ambassadors meeting at every event
01:02so all the teams are encouraged to send one person to those meetings
01:07and then we discuss what we want to do in the future.

01:14with the Super Series 52.
01:17They're sailing, they've got the championship here in Bayona
01:22and they just asked to come with our children from one of the schools here in Bayona.
01:28So we are learning a little bit what they do for the environment.
01:32So this is our wonderful project and we are more than delighted.
01:36We were visiting the boats and the kids had the opportunity to see how the Super Series 52 boats are.
01:45So they were part of the crew understanding how it works, how they sail, what they do for sailing.
01:52And afterwards we came back and we had another little chat where we watched some videos
01:59and where we could see what was done in different parts of the world with this project.
02:07And finally we came to the beach and we are collecting all the rubbish.
02:13So we are divided I think in five different teams.
02:16Each of them have the tools necessary to clean the beach and to leave this beach clean.
02:21But the most important thing is like we try to teach those kids and to let them know how important they are to keep the planet clean.
02:31I like that the kids are getting included in that because it sort of teaches them what not they haven't done it to the environment.
02:40They haven't polluted the environment yet, but they can see what effect the previous generations have had.
02:46So they can see what they should change in the future.
02:50It's usually kids from the local yacht club because I think it really encourages them if an action like this comes from such an important regatta and the professional sailors.
03:03So gender equality is one of the aspects of sustainability.
03:08We're making some progress. The class hasn't put in place any rules about it yet to encourage more women joining the class.
03:17But even with that then we can see that like girls are very capable sailors depending on what position just as capable as the men.
03:26So we can see that the guys are accepting us and there's more and more girls every year.
03:33There's a complete expectation of this.
