00:30In Galicia on Spain's northwest corner, the world's leading Grand Prix Monohull circuit returns to Bayona for the Galicia 52 Super Series Royal Cup.
00:42The historic town is a stop on the Pilgrim's Walk to Santiago, but for the 52 Super Series teams it's a welcome chance to experience imposing seascapes, beautiful seafood and wines and spectacular open race courses.
00:56To me it's a dream to come here and to come racing my waters and to show everyone how beautiful it is this area.
01:02At stake is the Royal Cup, a coveted standalone class trophy and Harmuller-Sprayer's platoon aviation team are looking to win it for the third time in a row.
01:11Eleven teams representing nine different nations muster in Galicia.
01:16It's welcome back to Eric de Turckheim's French squad on Teasing Machine and also to Tina and Hassel Plattner's South African flagged Phoenix, which is Andy Houghton and Tom Burnham forming a talented afterguard.
01:27It's always great to be back in the 52 Series. I mean, for us it's still the beginning. It's only our third event.
01:35This is really great. The racing is awesome here as usual and the teamwork and getting the boat around the racetrack is so important and it's really fun to be a part of that again.
01:45German ace Marcus Wieser is in steering platoon aviation for this regatta.
01:49And Harry Melges IV is on the helm of American Magic Quantum Racing for the first time this season.
01:56It was a quite easy call for me to step in for him, so I have fun to sail with the guys.
02:02There's times where things can be quite intense in the racing, you know, everyone's super tight out there, so keeping things calm and slow, you know, allows you to make really good decisions around the race course and that's what we're focusing on right now.
02:19Echoing the goals of the 52 Super Series to protect our playgrounds wherever we go, the locals in Galicia and Bayona are super passionate about protecting their unspoiled coastline, their waters and preserving their wonderful marine life.
02:33Sustainability has always been a very important aspect of the 52 Super Series, but I think lately it's been getting a bit more momentum.
02:42We try to teach those kids and to let them know how important they are to keep the planet clean.
02:55Conditions in beautiful Galicia were a welcome recontrast to the Mediterranean, to Saint-Tropez and the first regatta.
03:02And over the 10 races sailed, the fleet saw everything from 6 to 22 knots and a full programme was completed.
03:08Winners here in 2022, American Magic Quantum Racing laid down a marker with two second places to lead the regatta, with wins going to Allegri and Al-Qaeda.
03:20From there, the American team proved unbeatable, winning two races back-to-back in the middle of the regatta.
03:25And going into the final day, there were 13 points clear and in light winds and beautiful sunshine, American Magic Quantum Racing did all they needed to lift the Royal Cup for a fifth time.
03:35Excited for Harry, I'm excited for Victor, for Sarah and for the younger teammates that, you know, they were so close in so many regattas last year.
03:43We have been really close and, you know, there's a few heartbreaking moments there in the past, but, you know, I think it just makes it so much more exciting to win this time.
03:53So, I think Terry brings, you know, a really strong form of leadership into our team that maybe you could say that we were missing in the past.
04:01But I think things are looking good, you know, going into the Worlds and catch guys.
04:05Splatoon aviation finished with a flourish, taking two wins on the final day.

04:24Italy's Andre Lacorte, the owner-driver of Alcedo Vitamina, takes third place at only his second regatta since moving up from the Clubs 150 to the world's leading Grand Prix Monohull circuit.

04:41We would never expect that.
04:42We can do better because yesterday we did better than today.
04:47But the first two teams are all professional.
04:50So, all so good for me is fantastic result.
04:54After 10 races, American Magic Quantum Racing get 33 points.

05:02And third, Alcedo Vitamina on 49 points.
05:05So, after two regattas, only 14 races sailed so far.
