00:00Brits up and down the country will be packing suitcases and making plans to get to an airport.
00:07But for Londoners, we don't have just one main airport to get to.
00:11We have several dotted around the capital.
00:14So we've put together an airport guide on the easiest way to get to London Gatwick, Heathrow and other information about smaller airports as well.
00:23For those heading Long Hall, Heathrow and Gatwick are the more likely airports to fly from, although short-haul flights also leave from both of these airports too.
00:37London Heathrow is the capital's largest airport and is now accessible on London's newest underground line, the Elizabeth Line.
00:44With easy connections, Heathrow is now the most accessible airport and despite minor delays frequenting on the Lizzie Line, it's still the best bet when travelling to Heathrow Airport.
00:55Gatwick is technically just outside of London, closer to Crawley than the capital, but it's very easy to get to from South London and Victoria.
01:04It's not accessible by the underground, but hopping on a train from Victoria Station or South London makes it easy enough.
01:11Although Heathrow and Gatwick are the biggest airports in London and most frequently used, there are actually three others in Greater London, one of which, the smallest, is located in the city itself.
01:24And you can guess that by the name London City Airport.
01:28This airport is used for short-haul flights and charter planes too.
01:31Most Londoners won't have ventured to City Airport, but if they do, it's easily accessible on the TfL network, whether it be by London Underground or DLR.
01:42Although many won't have visited City Airport, they might well have gone to Stansted or Luton.
01:48These airports often offer cheaper fares to Europe and can be reached by trains or coaches.
01:53All airports in London have short-stay car parks and most of them have long-stay car parks too, but always check online to make sure they are open.
02:03So there you have it. London is very connected when it comes to airports.
02:07But do Londoners have a preference when it comes to which one they fly from?
02:13With the Elizabeth line, I live in East London, so to get to Heathrow is like top-notch.
02:19City is obviously the best, but it's so expensive.
02:21I think so. I'm a big fan of City Airport. Flying anywhere in Europe, City is great.
02:28Gatwick Airport isn't the nicest place, but it's good connections for Europe.
02:33And Heathrow is obviously great.
02:35I am not a fan of Luton or Stansted. Stansted is nowhere near London, so I can't really say that's London Airport.
02:42And Luton Airport is in Luton, so I'm not a fan.
02:46I flew into Heathrow. Well, no, it is a very good airport and I had no issue with it.
02:52It was very clear and it was very practical, convenient.
02:56Thanks.
