00:00The Lager State Government has shut down the Okwaba Arbator in Agege and this time it's indefinitely.
00:08The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tukumbo Wahab,
00:13made this known through his official handle on X, formerly Twitter.
00:17He said the decision was made after government officials inspected the Arbator
00:23and found several dirty and unhealthy practices, especially individuals residing within animal pens.
00:32The Okwaba Arbator has been closed and reopened many times in the past for similar reasons.
00:40This latest shutdown is part of the state government's stronger effort to clean up public places like markets and slaughterhouses.
00:50The Commissioner stressed that this is not to punish anyone but to protect the health of Lagos residents
00:57and ensure the environment is safe for everyone.
