00:00There comes a time in every father's life when he must take his offspring to see the circus.
00:07Well, the circus is here and so is Baby Snooks, accompanied by her father, played by Hanley Stafford.
00:12Enter Fanny Bryce as Baby Snooks.
00:20Well, Snooks, here we are at the circus.
00:22Now remember, I don't want you to go too close to the animal cage.
00:25I won't, Daddy.
00:27Wait a minute, I have to buy a ticket.
00:30How you are, mister?
00:31Just a minute there, buddy.
00:33You'll have to pay for the little girl, too.
00:35At that time, there's children under seven that bid it free.
00:38Is she under seven?
00:40She looks older.
00:41Well, she isn't, and I ought to know I'm her father.
00:44Yeah?
00:45How old are you, little girl?
00:46Huh?
00:47Tell the man your age, Snooks.
00:48Mind the age.
00:50Oh, stop that nonsense.
00:52You know you're only six years old.
00:53Never mind coaching the child, mister.
00:55Let her tell me how old she is herself.
00:57I want to go inside the circus.
00:59Well, tell the man you're under seven, and then we can go in.
01:03Is this a street car, Daddy?
01:04Oh, no.
01:06Now why can't I tell the truth?
01:09Come on, we're going home.
01:11Sheepskate.
01:12Now, you look here.
01:14Oh, stop yelling, Snooks.
01:16I'll give you a licking.
01:17I want to go inside the circus.
01:19Well, tell the man how old you are.
01:21Ah, stop all that beefing and buy the kid a ticket.
01:24I will not.
01:25It's not the 50 cents.
01:27It's the principle of the thing.
01:29She knows she's only six years old.
01:30Well, if she says so herself, I'll let her in for nothing.
01:33Go ahead, Snooks.
01:34Say, I'm six years old.
01:36Huh?
01:37Say to the man, I'm six years old.
01:39Daddy is six years old.
01:41Oh, never mind.
01:42Here's the 50 cents.
01:44Come on.
01:45Mark, I'm going, Daddy?
01:47Yes.
01:48Daddy.
01:49What?
01:49Is the man going to eat the half a dollar?
01:53Oh, no.
01:54Then why did he bite it?
01:56It was an insulting gesture.
01:58He wanted to see if the money was good.
02:00Is it good, Daddy?
02:01Why, of course it's good.
02:03Then why didn't he eat it?
02:05Oh, stop that.
02:06I brought you to the circus.
02:08Now enjoy yourself, you little devil.
02:12All right.
02:14What's that funny thing in the case?
02:16It's a blue-nosed baboon.
02:18Oh.
02:19I thought it was Uncle Louie.
02:22No, it's not Uncle Louie.
02:24It's a monkey.
02:25It looks like Uncle Louie.
02:28Well, what if it does?
02:29You shouldn't say those unkind things.
02:31Why?
02:32Because it's not nice to compare a monkey with Uncle Louie.
02:35Can't a monkey understand me?
02:38Oh, come away from there.
02:39Let's go in and see the show.
02:41I don't want it.
02:42Well, where do you want to go first?
02:43I want to go home.
02:45You can't go home.
02:46You bested me all week to take you to the circus.
02:48Now enjoy the animals.
02:50All right, Daddy.
02:51Oh, look.
02:52What is it now?
02:53Uncle Louie is scratching himself.
02:57I told you it's not, Uncle Louie.
02:59Come away from that cage.
03:01Now, here's some birds.
03:02What kind of birds, Daddy?
03:04A wild duck.
03:05Now, look at that one swimming around.
03:07See it's pretty plumy?
03:08What's plumy's, Daddy?
03:10It's feathers.
03:11Down.
03:12The duck's whole coat is down.
03:13Is his pants down, too?
03:16No, no.
03:17Oh, forget about the ducks.
03:19Now, look at the big elephant.
03:20Oh.
03:21Daddy.
03:22What?
03:23Look what that elephant is doing.
03:26Well, what's he doing?
03:27He's eating peanuts with his tail.
03:29Oh, don't be silly.
03:31That's his trunk.
03:32Well, where's his tail?
03:35In the back.
03:36In the back of the trunk?
03:38No, in the back of the elephant.
03:40Why?
03:41Because that's where it belongs.
03:45The tail is in the back and the trunk is in front.
03:47It's really the elephant's nose.
03:49But he's putting it in his mouth.
03:51Well, what's so wonderful about that?
03:53Can you do it?
03:56Snooks, you're giving me a headache with your silly questions.
03:59Come on, now.
04:00Let's take a fast look around and go home.
04:02I just want to buy me something, Daddy.
04:04All right.
04:04What do you want?
04:05I'm asking you.
04:06What do you want?
04:06A balloon?
04:07No.
04:07You want a cane?
04:08No.
04:09Some peanuts?
04:10No.
04:10Well, what do you want?
04:11I want a balloon.
04:13Oh, all right.
04:15The balloon man is way back there by the monkey cage.
04:17Come on.
04:18Will I have a big one, Daddy?
04:19You'll take the regular size.
04:21Say, mister, let me have a balloon.
04:23I want peanuts, too.
04:24Well, give us some peanuts, too.
04:26Thanks.
04:27There you are.
04:28Now, are you satisfied?
04:29Uh-huh.
04:30Daddy.
04:32And now what is it?
04:33Make the balloon bigger.
04:35Oh, all right.
04:35I'll blow it up.
04:37Give it to me.
04:40Bigger.
04:44Bigger.
04:46It can go any bigger.
04:47And don't stand so close to that cage.
04:51Make it bigger.
04:52All right, but stop yelling.
04:53Now, look.
05:00You see that?
05:01It's worse.
05:03Don't stop trying.
05:04I'll buy you another balloon.
05:05I don't want another balloon.
05:07Now, what are you trying for?
05:09Uncle Louie grabbed my peanuts.
05:11I don't want another balloon.
05:11I don't want another balloon.
05:12I don't want another balloon.
