00:27The days leading up to the start of the school year were busy and exciting for Kyle.
00:32He spent every waking moment in his room, experimenting with a variety of charms and
00:37spells. Although he came from a magical family, his opportunities to practice magic before now
00:43had been limited. For starters, neither Chris nor Diana treated their wands like ordinary tools,
00:50they considered them almost like an extension of themselves. Their wands were precious,
00:55and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they viewed them as their second lives.
01:00As a result, Kyle was only allowed to hold their wands twice a year, on Christmas and his birthday.
01:06Kyle understood the significance of these moments. He made sure to keep things simple,
01:12using basic spells like the wand lighting charm or the unlocking charm,
01:16both of which had minimal risks even if they failed. But there was another challenge,
01:21wand compatibility. Even though Kyle was their son, both of his parents' wands showed no affinity for
01:28him. The rejection was clear. Diana's wand, in particular, felt completely inert in Kyle's hands,
01:36no different than holding a regular stick. No matter how many times he recited the incantations,
01:42the wand refused to respond. Due to these limitations, Kyle had spent most of his pre-Hogwarts
01:48focusing on non-magical subjects like Quidditch, herbology, and magical creatures. He had very
01:55little actual practice with spells. But now, at 11 years old, with his very own wand in hand,
02:02he could finally cut loose and explore his magical potential. Chris didn't mind this at all. In fact,
02:09he enjoyed it, often offering Kyle enthusiastic advice and relishing his brief moments of playing the
02:15teacher. As a result, Kyle's room became a small haven of flickering light as he practiced spell
02:21after spell. At first, things went smoothly. Kyle was practicing basic charms that didn't cause much
02:29trouble for anyone else. But as he mastered more and more advanced spells, complications inevitably
02:35arose. One afternoon, as Chris sat at the dining table enjoying a cup of black tea, the teacup across
02:42from him suddenly lifted off the table and began to float slowly upstairs. Chris, unfazed, tapped his
02:49wand and gently guided the cup back down to the table. Kyle, he called out, you must always know
02:55exactly where you want the object to go when using Accio. And I suggest starting with a quill or parchment,
03:02at least they won't break. Okay, dad, Kyle's voice echoed from upstairs, though Chris wasn't entirely
03:09convinced he was listening. After all, this wasn't the first time something like this had happened.
03:16In fact, Chris had used more mending charms in the last few days than he had in the past 10 years.
03:22He had even been forced to apply anti-summoning charms to every fragile object in the house.
03:28Just as Chris was lost in thought, a loaf of bread whizzed past his head and smashed into the ceiling with a
03:33loud crunch. To be fair, Kyle was improving, the bread had flown much faster this time.
03:40With a sigh, Chris waved his wand to send the loaf back to the kitchen, all while silently praising
03:46Diana's foresight. She had confiscated Kyle's cauldron on the very first day. If not for her quick
03:53thinking, Chris shuddered to imagine what state the house might have been in by now. After all,
03:5811-year-old wizards, especially new ones, were notorious for causing a bit of chaos.
04:05The Weasleys next door had proven that much. And their own family was no exception. But fortunately,
04:12those chaotic days were almost over. Hogwarts was starting tomorrow, and that thought filled
04:18Chris with relief. Finally, a break. With a contented sigh, Chris lifted his cup of black tea and took a
04:26long, satisfying sip. As evening approached, time passed quickly. Diana hadn't returned home yet
04:34due to a task she had to finish, so Chris, who was utterly useless in the kitchen, eagerly accepted
04:40Mrs. Weasley's invitation to bring Kyle over for dinner at the burrow, which was just a short walk
04:45away. He brought along some ingredients, but his gesture wasn't met with the warmest reception.
04:50Mrs. Weasley, unsurprisingly, was not pleased. She scolded Chris for bringing food when he was
04:58supposed to be a guest, telling him it was a sign of distrust in their friendship. Chris didn't argue,
05:04though. He simply tossed the ingredients into the kitchen with a laugh and allowed her to vent,
05:10knowing this routine all too well. Meanwhile, Kyle had naturally blended in with the Weasley children.
05:16This was nothing new for him. Whenever Diana was off on an errand and couldn't make it back,
05:23he and Chris often had dinner with the Weasleys. This familiar scene played out every time,
05:29making it a regular part of their lives. Not far from the house, Kyle and the Weasley kids were
05:35cleaning up the gnomes from the garden. The term cleaning was used loosely, they were really just
05:41playing a game. The rules were simple, one person grabbed a gnome by the legs and flung it into the
05:47air, while the other used a wooden bat to hit it like a hacky sack. Whoever sent the gnome the farthest
05:53won the game and earned the grand prize, a box of birdie bots every flavor beans. Initially,
06:00Chris didn't approve of the game. He thought tossing the gnomes out of the garden should be enough,
06:05without the added element of batting practice. But his perspective shifted when, one day,
06:11he discovered that the gnomes had dug up the scurvy grass he'd been carefully cultivating for a year.
06:17After that, he stopped objecting. In fact, he even gifted Kyle a top-quality bat for Christmas,
06:24signed by the batsmen of the Vimborn Wasps. It was well-crafted, perfectly balanced,
06:30and ideal for smacking gnomes. Since then, Kyle had won five consecutive gnome batting championships.
06:38Today was no exception. It's not fair, Ron complained, glancing at Kyle's signed bat and
06:45then at the stick he'd picked up from the ground. The equipment gap is too big. It's not that big,
06:51Kyle said, smiling. Equipment is secondary. What's important is having the belief in your heart that
06:58you can win. I don't win because my bat is better, I win because I want it more than you do.
07:05Kyle tossed Ron a bright red birdie bot's beam. By the way, Ron, before you start grumbling about
07:12equipment, you might want to focus on beating Ginny first. Her stick is way smaller than yours,
07:18and she's still ahead of you. There were five players in today's game, and Ron had landed in
07:23last place, even several meters behind his younger sister, Ginny. Kyle's words made Ron's face flush
07:31with embarrassment. Losing to Ginny wasn't exactly something he could brag about. But his attention
07:37was quickly drawn to the beam Kyle had tossed him. It was bright red and looked tempting. He cautiously
07:45popped it into his mouth, hoping for a decent flavor. As soon as the taste hit, Ron's face lit up,
07:51it was raspberry. He chewed happily, savoring the sweet flavor. Somehow, Kyle always managed to pick
07:59out the best birdie bot's beans. Ron couldn't help feeling envious. He had never figured out how Kyle
08:07did it. Every time Ron picked a bean, it was something awful like liver or spinach. Once, he even had the
08:15misfortune of eating one that tasted like dragon dung. The mix of fishy, rotten berry with fermented
08:21undertones had been enough to make him gag. The mere thought of it made his stomach churn all over
08:26again. Channel Dream Novel. Chapter 7, Dinner. Kyle, Ron, and the rest of the Weasley children had spent the
08:36evening throwing gnomes in the yard, but now it was time for dinner. After playing for a while, Mrs. Weasley's
08:43familiar voice called out from the burrow, announcing that the meal was ready. The group, already hungry,
08:49quickly abandoned their game and made their way back to the house. As they walked, Kyle casually handed
08:55out the remaining birdie bot's every flavor beans from the prize box he had won earlier. He gave Ron
09:01one and popped one into his own mouth, leaving the rest for Ginny. The young girl, wary of the dreaded
09:08dragon dung flavor, hurried over to Kyle, hoping he'd help her avoid any unpleasant surprises.
09:13Kyle understood her request, but he resolutely refused, saying, young people need to try new
09:20things, Ginny. After all, the whole point of birdie bot's beans is the surprise. If there were no risks,
09:28they'd just be called sugar beans. Ginny pouted, but Kyle stood his ground. He wasn't being lazy,
09:36he was just encouraging her sense of adventure. After all, the tagline was, every bite is a new
09:42adventure. A few minutes later, the group started toward the house, Kyle leading the way with Ron
09:48close behind. But before they got far, Fred and George came barreling forward, shoving Ron to the
09:55side as they hurried past. Ron stumbled, nearly falling into a nearby gnome hole, and shot the twins
10:02an angry look. His face turned red with frustration, clearly ready to lash out at them if they didn't
10:08apologize. Unfortunately for Ron, Fred and George didn't even notice. Their attention was completely
10:16focused on Kyle. They'd been scheming ever since their mishap in Diagon Alley, which they considered
10:22one of the most embarrassing moments of their lives. The twins had been waiting for the perfect
10:27opportunity to get back at Kyle, and now that they were back at the burrow, that chance had arrived.
10:32Ron fumed silently behind them, but he knew from experience that confronting his older brothers
10:38would only lead to a tussle he couldn't win. Fred and George had bullied him plenty of times before,
10:45and things usually worked themselves out after a few days and a shared snack. For now, however,
10:51Ron had no choice but to accept that they were too focused on Kyle to care about his grievances.
10:56As everyone made their way to the dining area, Mrs. Weasley set up a cozy table outside in the yard
11:02to accommodate the larger group. Once Kyle sat down in his usual spot, Fred and George quickly flanked
11:09him, sitting on either side with suspicious grins. Kyle raised an eyebrow, immediately sensing that
11:16something was up. Huh, he muttered to himself, a little surprised. He had never seen the twins sit
11:23apart like this. Their sudden positioning was far too deliberate. This doesn't bode well, Kyle thought.
11:32Their intentions were clear enough, but without knowing what they had planned, Kyle decided to
11:37act normal and helped Mrs. Weasley finish setting the table. As he arranged the last dish, his nose was
11:43met with the mouth-watering aroma of hearty home-cooked food, fluffy, crispy buns, soft roasted potatoes,
11:50fragrant roast chicken, golden fried chicken nuggets, and tender veal steaks. It was a feast fit for a
11:57family, as always at the Weasley's table. Once the food was served and everyone had taken their seats,
12:03dinner officially began. Kyle remained cautious throughout, keenly aware that the twins were
12:09likely planning some kind of mischief. He carefully examined every bite, not wanting to accidentally eat
12:15something strange. He'd rather not suffer any public embarrassment, especially with Fred and George
12:22sitting so close, clearly plotting something. Though the food was delicious, Kyle couldn't help
12:28but wonder about Hogwarts meals. He wasn't expecting Chinese food, but maybe he could hope for some good
12:35French cuisine, or at the very least, a decent pasta or pizza. For now, though, he kept his focus on his
12:42plate, determined not to fall into whatever trap Fred and George had prepared. With Kyle on high
12:48alert, the twins' plans seemed to stall. Throughout dinner, Fred and George behaved as usual, cracking
12:55jokes and making everyone laugh without showing any signs of mischief. Kyle's suspicion began to wane as
13:02the meal progressed. However, just as the table reached its liveliest point, Fred struck. After telling a
13:10particularly funny joke about a Slytherin student with greasy hair, he turned to George and said,
13:15Hey, George, Kyle's going to Hogwarts tomorrow. Should we give him some advice? You know, for his own
13:22safety. After all, it can be pretty dangerous. George, who had been struggling to swallow a large
13:30bite of steak, caught on immediately. He pretended to consider the suggestion for a moment before
13:36responding, Hmm, I don't think it's necessary, Fred. We should trust Kyle, he's very capable.
13:43It's only an adult troll after all. He'll definitely be able to take it down and pass the house sorting
13:49without any problems. Fred nodded solemnly. You're right, George. And Mr. Kyle Chopper, with his pride,
13:59surely wouldn't want to rely on us for help. He doesn't even call us seniors. Their plan was simple,
14:05scared Kyle with exaggerated stories about Hogwarts house sorting, making him lose sleep the night
14:11before his big day. Fred, grinning with satisfaction, was certain this would be the perfect revenge
14:17for what had happened in Diagon Alley. As if on cue, the adults joined in, their eyes gleaming with
14:24mischief. The topic of the, new students' house sorting, or more specifically, terrifying new students
14:30before they entered Hogwarts, had always been a popular pastime among older wizards.
14:36It was now Kyle's turn to be the victim of their well-practiced prank.
14:41My dear, don't believe them, Mrs. Weasley said, scolding the twins with a tone that was only half
14:46serious. She turned to Kyle, smiling reassuringly. It's really not that scary, just a little test
14:54involving some ghosts. There's no real danger at all. Molly, how can you lie to the boy?
15:02Mr. Weasley chimed in, faking outrage as he shot a mock glare at his wife.
15:07Kyle's a smart lad. We should be honest with him. I'm sure he could handle taming a hippogriff by
15:14himself. A hippogriff? I thought it was a dragon. Chris said, pretending to be confused before turning
15:22to Kyle with absolute certainty. Son, trust your father. It's definitely a dragon. And I bet this
15:30year it'll be a Hungarian horntail. The chaotic back and forth continued, with each adult throwing
15:36in their own ridiculous version of what Kyle might face at Hogwarts. Fred and George sat back,
15:43pleased that their prank was gaining momentum, sure that Kyle would fall for it. But Kyle,
15:48already on to them, played his part perfectly. He nodded along seriously to each ridiculous claim,
15:55responding with phrases like, Oh, I see, yes, I can, and, I trust you, Dad, all while keeping a
16:03straight face. Mrs. Weasley looked relieved. Mr. Weasley appeared more determined than ever.
16:10And Chris, though still uncertain, seemed to take some comfort in Kyle's unwavering agreement.
16:15The truth was, Kyle knew what this was, a ritual of sorts, a kind of playful hazing.
16:23The wizarding world had limited sources of entertainment, quidditch, some minor festivities,
16:28and, of course, fooling young witches and wizards. It was tradition, and Kyle had no reason to spoil
16:36their fun. He played along with enthusiasm, finding it amusing rather than nerve-wracking.
16:41After all, he thought, it's just a show. Let them have their fun.
16:48As laughter and banter filled the table, no one seemed to notice two small, helpless figures
16:53trembling in the far corner, two garden gnomes who had wandered too close to the festivities,
16:58caught in the crossfire of the night's lighthearted pranks.

17:03Chapter 8, Mr. Weasley's Dream
17:06Kyle may not have been fooled by the adults' usual tall tales, but they had definitely done
17:12the trick for Ron and Ginny. Ron, in particular, had been listening intently, eager to gather
17:18some inside knowledge for when he started Hogwarts the following year. But as the conversation
17:24progressed, his face turned a sickly shade of pale. Trolls, ghosts, and hippogriffs were extreme,
17:30sure, but Ron figured he could manage to escape if things got really bad. The Hogwarts professors
17:37wouldn't let students face anything truly deadly, right? But a dragon? That was another matter entirely.
17:45Dragons were classified as XXXXX-level magical creatures, dangerous even to fully trained adult
17:52wizards. For an 11-year-old, facing a dragon sounded like certain death. By the time the professors had
17:59cast their protection spells, Ron feared he'd already be a pile of ash from a single sneeze
18:05of dragon fire. Is this seriously what school is like? Ron thought, his heart sinking. He felt an
18:13overwhelming urge to run away from home and never look back. Hogwarts sounded less like a place of
18:19learning and more like a death trap. Ginny wasn't faring much better. Her usually vibrant red hair
18:26seemed to have lost its shine, and her face was pale as she stared down at her plate, visibly shaken.
18:32Kyle, noticing her distress, leaned over with concern.
18:36What's wrong, Ginny? he asked softly.
18:40Why aren't you eating? Are you feeling unwell?
18:44Ginny shook her head quickly, not wanting to admit her fear in front of her brothers.
18:48No, I'm fine, she said, forcing a smile. I'm just, full.
18:56Given that she was only nine and had already eaten half a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans,
19:01it wasn't entirely a lie, her appetite wasn't large to begin with.
19:06The sudden talk about dragons and sorting, however, had sapped the rest of her hunger.
19:11I see, that's a shame, Kyle replied, accepting her explanation without much thought.
19:18He calmly reached over and took the grilled fish from Ginny's plate, placing it onto his own.
19:24Grilled fish was one of Mrs. Weasley's specialties, and it was best eaten fresh.
19:29He'd been craving it for a while, so he wasn't about to let it go to waste.
19:34Ginny didn't stop him, though she watched with a sad expression as Kyle devoured the fish she had been
19:39saving. The thought of having to face a dragon in two years had killed any remaining desire for food.
19:46In the end, she simply turned her head away, hoping to forget about it.
19:51Fred and George, seated next to her, sighed dramatically in unison.
19:56They had also been eyeing the grilled fish, but Kyle had beaten them to it.
20:01Undeterred, the twins shifted their focus to Ron.
20:05Unfortunately for them, Ron's plate had already been picked clean.
20:09His fish was long gone, the bones gnawed so thoroughly that even a flobberworm would have
20:14trouble finding anything left to slide across.
20:17Seeing their chance for mischief, Fred leaned in with a grin.
20:22What's wrong, Ron?
20:24Scared of the dragon, he teased, patting Ron on the shoulder in a rare display of brotherly concern.
20:29Don't worry, the dragon's only there for one year.
20:34By the time you get to Hogwarts, they'll probably replace it with another creature.
20:39Yeah, George chimed in with perfect timing.
20:42I think it'll be spiders next year.
20:45I saw some in the Forbidden Forest, about the size of gnomes.
20:50Maybe Hagrid's getting them ready for the sorting ceremony.
20:52At the mention of spiders, Ron's face went from pale to ghostly white.
20:58His eyes widened in sheer terror.
21:01No.
21:02He screamed, throwing his cutlery down and bolting from the table, sprinting back toward the burrow
21:08without a second thought.
21:10Fred and George burst out laughing, watching with wicked delight as Ron dashed away in pure
21:15panic.
21:15They'd succeeded in scaring him senseless, and the way he had reacted was everything they
21:21had hoped for.
21:23But despite their victory, the twins didn't entirely escape consequences for their mischief.
21:29As they laughed, Mrs. Weasley's sharp voice rang out from across the table.
21:34George, why were you in the Forbidden Forest?
21:37Mrs. Weasley's sharp question cut through the twins' laughter like a blade.
21:41She fixed them with a stern gaze, her keen eyes narrowing.
21:46I don't recall Hogwarts allowing first years into the Forbidden Forest.
21:51Fred and George froze in their tracks, realizing they'd said too much.
21:56Mom, I can explain, Fred started, but it was too late.
22:01The twins attempted to make a break for it, but having only just begun their second year,
22:05they were no match for Mrs. Weasley.
22:07She quickly caught them, and what followed was the familiar scene of motherly scolding
22:13and the twins' attempts at half-hearted apologies.
22:16Though Kyle had witnessed this ritual countless times over the years, it never ceased to entertain
22:21him.
22:22He watched with interest, and his appetite even improved as he enjoyed the show.
22:28Kyle didn't doubt that the twins had ventured into the Forbidden Forest, they were known for
22:32their reckless behavior.
22:33However, he was pretty sure the part about the spiders was just a ploy to scare Ron.
22:39Though it's ironic, Kyle thought, that they accidentally stumbled onto the truth.
22:45The Acromantulas in the forest were far from harmless, and if Fred and George had really
22:49encountered one, they'd likely have set up a permanent residence there by now.
22:54Kyle recalled that the Acromantula colony was deep within the forest.
22:58Fred and George, adventurous as they were, wouldn't have ventured that far in.
23:04They might have been troublemakers, but they weren't suicidal.
23:08They didn't have Harry Potter's luck, or his knack for getting into life-threatening situations.
23:14After another twenty minutes or so, dinner began to wind down.
23:18Despite a few interruptions, the evening had been lively and enjoyable for everyone.
23:23Kyle, especially, had a great time.
23:27Once dinner ended, Percy went upstairs to review his homework, ever the diligent student.
23:33Meanwhile, Ron, carrying a small bundle in a bid to run away from home, was caught and
23:39was now taking the twins' place, being chased around the yard by a determined Mrs. Weasley.
23:44As this chaotic scene played out, Mr. Weasley and Chris continued their conversation in a
23:49quieter corner of the burrow.
23:52Chris, what you did earlier was a bit much, Mr. Weasley said, shaking his head with a smile.
23:58It's just the sorting, after all, no one actually faces a dragon.
24:03Kyle's clever.
24:05I'm sure he realized we were pulling his leg.
24:09No, Arthur, you've got it wrong, Chris replied, shaking his head.
24:14The plan was never going to work.
24:16You see, Kyle has spent at least two months every year with Newt Scamander since he was
24:21three.
24:22Do you really think he's afraid of trolls or hippogriffs?
24:26Mr. Weasley blinked, momentarily thrown off by the information.
24:31Oh.
24:32I suppose that makes sense.
24:34But wait, are you saying Kyle can, well, communicate with magical creatures?
24:40Like you.
24:42Chris nodded with a small smile.
24:44Exactly.
24:46So, it's impossible for him to be afraid of a hippogriff.
24:50He's used to dealing with creatures far more dangerous than that.
24:54Honestly, the only thing that might give him pause is a full-grown dragon.
24:59Mr. Weasley glanced at Chris, a hint of envy creeping into his expression.
25:04That's an incredible ability.
25:07If only I could communicate with muggle objects the way you do with magical creatures.
25:11Wait, what?
25:14Chris was caught off guard by the sudden shift in conversation.
25:18He stifled a laugh, realizing where Arthur's thoughts had wandered.
25:23It's not as impressive as it sounds, Arthur.
25:27My ability is limited to magical creatures, mice, toads, owls, that sort of thing.
25:33Regular animals don't respond.
25:35You can only figure out what they're thinking through experience.
25:40Chris's point was clear, even if Mr. Weasley magically changed his surname to Chopper,
25:45he wouldn't suddenly be able to have meaningful conversations with everyday objects like toasters or cars.

25:53Chapter 9, The Hogwarts Express
25:56In the wizarding world, September 1st is a very important day,
26:01especially for witches and wizards over the age of 11 who have not yet graduated.
26:06On this day, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry begins its school year.
26:11Young witches and wizards who have just turned 11 eagerly await this day,
26:15counting down with anticipation, hoping it will come quickly.
26:19However, for those aged 12 to 17, it's not necessarily a day of excitement.
26:25The start of the school year marks the end of a carefree summer holiday,
26:29bringing with it the realization that all the work they had blissfully forgotten about is now waiting for them.
26:35And that, of course, is not good news.
26:38This feeling was especially true for Kyle and the Weasley twins.
26:42In the front yard of the borough, Kyle, standing in front, looked excited,
26:48while Fred and George, who were behind him, seemed nervous,
26:51whispering to each other occasionally as if they were first years heading to Hogwarts for the very first time.
26:57Yes, Kyle was here too.
27:00Chris had planned to disapparate with him directly to King's Cross,
27:04but just before they could leave, Mrs. Weasley had appeared at the door.
27:07She seemed to know exactly what Chris had in mind and, without missing a beat,
27:13told him that there were too many muggles at King's Cross for it to be safe to disapparate.
27:17She insisted that Kyle should travel with them instead.
27:21Chris, seeing Mrs. Weasley's determined expression,
27:25swallowed his objections and simply nodded in agreement.
27:28Meanwhile, Kyle rubbed his forehead in mild frustration.
27:31He wanted to point out to Mrs. Weasley that, in the eyes of muggles,
27:37seeing nine people pile out of a Ford would be far more conspicuous than two people suddenly appearing out of thin air.
27:44After all, they weren't in India,
27:46and the Ford wasn't some sacred vehicle with a diamond-shaped logo allowing infinite passengers.
27:52But, at 11 years old, his opinion didn't carry much weight, so he stayed quiet.
27:57Just then, Mrs. Weasley approached Kyle and asked kindly,
28:01Dear, have you packed everything?
28:04Of course, Kyle replied, giving a light kick to the large suitcase at his feet.
28:09I checked it three times before we left.
28:13Everything's in there.
28:15That's good, Mrs. Weasley said with a smile and a nod.
28:19While they were talking, Mr. Weasley arrived, pulling up in an old, vintage car.
28:24It was their mode of transport for the day,
28:27a Ford that had passed through at least nine different owners and been bought from who knows where.
28:32Yet Mr. Weasley adored it and treated it with great care.
28:36What are we waiting for?
28:38Get in the car, Mr. Weasley said, ushering Chris to get in first.
28:43At that point, Kyle realized it was too late to object,
28:47so with a resigned sigh, he climbed into the car, followed by the rest of the Weasley family.
28:52The inside of the car had been enchanted with an undetectable extension charm,
28:57so despite squeezing in nine people and a hefty amount of luggage, it didn't feel cramped at all.
29:03Mr. Weasley, a skilled driver, kept the ride smooth, with no noticeable bumps,
29:08sudden braking, or awkward starts, certainly better than a ride on the night bus.
29:13They arrived at King's Cross Station at around 10 o'clock, right on schedule.
29:18Thankfully, Kyle's earlier fears didn't come true, in fact, the people around them paid no
29:24attention to the old, rickety Ford. The group made their way seamlessly to the barrier between
29:30platforms 9 and 10. Once they reached this spot, they no longer had to worry about being noticed
29:36by muggles. A nearby muggle-repelling charm ensured that ordinary people would instinctively avoid the
29:42area. Even in rare instances when something unusual did catch a muggle's eye, members of the Ministry of
29:49Magic Station nearby would handle it swiftly. It was a very secure process. Under Mrs. Weasley's
29:57guidance, the group lined up and, one by one, passed through the seemingly solid barrier,
30:02emerging on the other side at Platform 9 and 3 quarters. The platform was bustling with life,
30:08much busier than the area outside. Next to it stood a dark red steam train, proudly displaying
30:15a sign that read, Hogwarts Express. Looks like I'm not late after all, came a gentle voice from behind
30:22Kyle. Hearing the familiar tone, Kyle spun around quickly and saw Diana smiling warmly at him.
30:29Mom! Kyle exclaimed in surprise. You had an errand to run earlier.
30:35It's already taken care of, Diana replied, kneeling down to straighten his clothes.
30:42Today is your first day at school. I wouldn't miss such an important day for anything.
30:48That's great, Kyle beamed. It would have been a real shame if only Chris had been there to see him
30:54off to Hogwarts. Diana spent a few more minutes chatting with Kyle, making sure he was ready.
31:00She didn't let him board the train until it was almost time for it to depart.
31:05Just before he left, she said, I'm sure Chris has given you the full Hogwarts lecture,
31:10so I won't repeat it. Diana's deep blue eyes locked onto Kyle's, and her tone became serious.
31:17Dear, your father and I graduated a long time ago, and we don't want to relive our school days by
31:23hearing from your professors, especially Dumbledore. So, please, no letters from Hogwarts, okay?
31:31Don't worry, Mom, Kyle grinned. I'll follow the rules, there's no reason for them to send any
31:37letters to the family. Of course, dear, Diana replied, kissing Kyle lightly on the cheek and
31:44watching him step onto the train. And don't forget to let us know which house you're sorted into.
31:49I won't, Kyle nodded before boarding the train. A few minutes later, the train slowly began to pull
31:57away from the platform. Only then did Diana finally turn her gaze away. Not far behind her,
32:04Chris had just finished talking to a middle-aged man and walked over to her. Mr. Diggory showing off
32:10his son again. Diana asked with a laugh. It was clear that the person Chris had been speaking with
32:17was someone she knew well. Amos Diggory, like Chris, worked in the Department for the Regulation
32:23and Control of Magical Creatures at the Ministry of Magic. He also had a son attending Hogwarts,
32:29though his son was a year older than Kyle and in the same year as the Weasley twins.
32:34However, unlike the mischievous twins, Cedric Diggory was outstanding in every way,
32:39much like Percy Weasley had been in his early years at Hogwarts.
32:42Amos, being a bit of a braggart, took every opportunity to boast about his son's accomplishments.
32:50If he'd only done it once or twice, people would praise him in return, but since he went on and on
32:55about it, it had become tiresome. Eventually, Amos earned a reputation as one of the more unpopular
33:02people in the ministry, especially among parents whose children had more average achievements at
33:07Hogwarts. Many avoided him whenever possible. If they happened to cross paths, they would quickly
33:13look away and try to avoid conversation, speaking only if absolutely necessary. When avoidance was
33:20impossible, like when trapped together in an elevator, or if they worked in the same department
33:25as Chris, they would exchange a few polite words before quickly finding an excuse to leave,
33:30never giving Amos a chance to turn the topic toward Cedric.
33:33This time, Chris hadn't been able to dodge him. Cedric is very talented, Chris admitted with a weary
33:40smile. But never mind that. Is your task really complete?
33:46Though Chris wasn't privy to the details of Diana's work in the Department of Mysteries,
33:51he knew that missions originating from there usually took at least a month to finish.
33:56It was hard to believe it had been wrapped up in just two days.
33:59Of course not, Diana said, narrowing her eyes playfully. But my colleagues are quite laid
34:06back. They won't make a fuss about me taking a little time off.

34:12Chapter 10, Cedric
34:15Kyle boarded the train, only to find that most of the first few carriages were already full.
34:21He couldn't help it, he had boarded late, and it was hard to find an empty seat by this time.
34:26With a sigh, he used the floating charm to lift his luggage and made his way toward the back of
34:32the train, hoping for better luck. Eventually, he found a relatively spacious compartment near the
34:38end. Inside, there was only one other boy, about his age. Although the boy wasn't quite as handsome
34:46as Kyle, he was certainly better looking than the Weasley twins.
34:49Knock, knock. Kyle rapped lightly on the door and asked politely, hello, may I sit here?
34:57All the other seats are taken. Of course, go ahead and sit down, the boy replied quickly.
35:04Thanks. After entering the compartment, Kyle placed his luggage on the shelf, then turned to introduce
35:11himself, extending his hand. Hello, I'm Kyle Chopper, a new student this year. The boy seemed
35:18distracted and didn't respond right away. When he finally snapped out of his thoughts, he reached out
35:24to shake Kyle's hand. Oh, sorry, Cedric Diggory, second year at Hogwarts. Cedric? Kyle was a bit taken
35:34aback. He hadn't expected to meet such a well-known figure as soon as he boarded the train. Cedric
35:41Diggory, the future Triwizard champion and one of Hogwarts' brightest students. No wonder he looked
35:47so handsome. Kyle recalled that their families both lived near the village of St. Catchpole,
35:53but for various reasons, the two had never crossed paths. Not even once. Kyle had tried to meet him a
36:01few times in the past, but the Diggory family had always kept their doors closed. Eventually,
36:07Kyle had given up. How strange that their first meeting would happen on the Hogwarts Express.
36:14However, it was clear that Cedric had something on his mind, so Kyle didn't push the conversation any
36:19further. After their brief exchange, Kyle pulled out the standard book of spells, grade one that he'd
36:26bought from flourish and blots and began reading. Cedric, meanwhile, continued staring off into space.
36:33Outside the train window, a light drizzle began to fall without warning. It was typical of the
36:39weather here, rain that came suddenly and without notice. Kyle glanced at the rain but quickly returned
36:46to his book, unfazed. He was used to it, and in fact, he rather enjoyed reading in this kind of
36:52weather. Under Kyle's influence, Cedric seemed to snap out of his days and pulled out a book of his
36:58own. Kyle glanced at the title, The Dark Forces, A Guide to Self-Protection. It was common for
37:06Hogwarts students to preview their defense against the dark arts lessons on the train, especially since
37:11no one ever knew how long the professor for that subject would stick around. Better to be prepared in
37:17case the teacher quit halfway through the turn. For a while, the only sound in the compartment was
37:22the soft rustling of parchment pages turning, a peaceful contrast to the noise and bustle outside
37:28in the corridor. But the quiet didn't last long. Cedric had barely turned two pages when the
37:34compartment door slid open again. Finally, I found you, Kyle. We saved you a seat, but you stood us up
37:42and made us wait like idiots. I think you owe us an apology. Fred and George Weasley stood leaning
37:50against the doorframe, interrogating Kyle one after the other. They both looked rather annoyed,
37:56as if Kyle had committed some great offense. I can apologize, Kyle said, calmly closing his book,
38:03but only if you swear on your dumb bombs that what you just said is true.
38:06Fred's expression instantly shifted from anger to confusion. Well, can I swear on the headmaster's
38:14name? George was equally perplexed. Or Professor McGonagall's name, maybe. No. Kyle shook his head
38:23firmly. It has to be on your dumb bombs. Oh, George, I think Kyle was riding the Hogwarts Express for the
38:31first time and didn't know his way around. That's why he couldn't find us, Fred said, his tone
38:37mockingly sympathetic. Yes, Fred, we can't blame him for that. We should have been more aware of what
38:44was happening outside, George replied with exaggerated seriousness. The twins exchanged a
38:50quick glance, silently agreeing to drop their previous accusations, and squeezed into the compartment as if
38:56nothing had happened. As they settled in, their eyes inevitably landed on Cedric. Fred flashed a
39:03mischievous grin and said, Well, look who it is, though I can't seem to remember why. George raised an
39:10eyebrow, catching on. Oh, of course. It's our dear Cedric Diggory, the shining beacon of Hufflepuff,
39:19the brightest light of Hogwarts. As soon as the words left their mouths, Cedric's face flushed a deep red.
39:25The embarrassing titles made him want to disappear into the floor. But, unfortunately, he couldn't deny
39:33them. After all, the nicknames, Good Boy, and Light of Hogwarts, had been circulating all summer,
39:40thanks to his father's endless bragging, and had become notorious within the Ministry of Magic,
39:45spreading even to families like the Weasleys. During the holiday, nearly half of Cedric's letters
39:51had been signed off with, Light of Hogwarts, sent as teasing notes by friends and colleagues alike.
39:57The other half came from classmates from Muggle families who were blissfully unaware of the nickname.
40:03He had chosen this corner compartment in the hopes of hiding from the ridicule,
40:07but Faith had other plans, and he had been discovered by the worst people possible.
40:12Please, just leave me alone.
40:13Cedric pleaded, folding his hands as if in prayer.
40:19I'll even lend you my homework.
40:21As he spoke, he placed a neat stack of parchment on the table.
40:26The twins were tempted to keep teasing him, but Cedric's offer was too good to pass up.
40:31This was, after all, the top students' homework, something they couldn't ignore.
40:37George straightened up, adopting a more serious tone as he quickly scooped up the parchment.
40:41Cedric, what are you talking about?
40:45We were just kidding.
40:47We'd never laugh at you.
40:49Fred nodded in agreement.
40:52Exactly.
40:53Don't worry, we wouldn't dream of making fun of you over something like this.
40:58With that, Fred and George left the compartment, beaming as if they'd just struck gold.
41:04Once they were gone, Cedric let out a long sigh of relief.
41:08He looked at Kyle with a sheepish expression.
41:10I'm sorry, I...
41:13I should be the one apologizing, Kyle interrupted.
41:17They came to see me.
41:19If it weren't for that, you wouldn't have been discovered.
41:23Cedric shook his head with a rueful smile.
41:26It would have happened sooner or later.
41:29Though he could hide on the train for a while, he knew there was no avoiding it once they reached Hogwarts.
41:34Eventually, he'd have to face the teasing head-on.
41:39But, in a strange way, the Weasley twins' sudden appearance had given Cedric an idea for how to handle the situation.
41:46Homework.
41:47As the top student in his year, Cedric's summer homework was highly coveted, as the twins' reaction had just proven.
41:55If he offered his homework to his classmates, it might be enough to keep both Hufflepuff and Gryffindor quiet.
42:01If he could manage to keep those two houses in check, he'd have solved 80% of the problem.
42:06As for Ravenclaw and Slytherin, Cedric reasoned that their more reserved nature meant they were unlikely to get involved in this kind of teasing, at least, not most of them.
42:17Even if a few decided to join in, it wouldn't be too difficult to handle.
42:22If his own house didn't stir up trouble, and if he could keep Gryffindor's notorious pranksters at bay, the whole issue would likely blow over in a few days.
42:30Three days, tops, Cedric thought to himself, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.
42:37With that plan in mind, he suddenly didn't feel quite so bad.
