00:00On your China deal, Mr. President, are you still concerned about the national security issues with Chinese students studying in the United States?
00:08Look, I've always been in favor of students coming in from other countries. That includes China.
00:14And we have 500,000 Chinese students coming in. I've always been in favor of it.
00:20Does it mean you, that you have to watch people? Yeah, you have to watch students, but you have to watch other people also.
00:27So I've always been strongly in favor of it. I think it's a great thing.
00:31It's also, it's good for our schools. It's good for, I think it's good for our country.
00:35I'm also in favor of having them stay. I've been in favor of letting them stay.
00:40If you get educated for four years, you're willing to get educated for four years.
00:44I like people being able to stay. You know, they have some great students.
00:48You have some, yeah, that's, these are Republicans clapping, you know, because a lot of Republicans don't like that idea.
00:54I happen to like it. I'm a real Republican, believe it or not.
00:58But I, I like the idea. They go four years.
01:01To me, that's almost like, you know, getting your, just buying your way in, in a very legitimate way.
01:08And, you know, you have stories where Apple wants to hire somebody and they can't hire him because he can't stay.
01:14He went to a great school. He finished first in his class.
01:17They made him a big offer and everything's done.
01:20But he has no idea whether or not he's going to be able to stay.
01:23And I'm all for making sure that people like that can go to work for all of our great companies.
01:29And you know what they do? They go back to their country and there are stories that are all over the place.
01:34They go back to their company and they start a company just like they were going to start here.
01:37They end up starting it in China or India or someplace else.
01:41And now they're among the richest people in the world.
01:43They've got thousands and thousands of employees that make it great.
01:47This is happening all the time because they're not allowed to stay.
01:51And I'm, I think we'll probably end up doing something about that.
