Colombia, citizens raise their voices against the genocide in Gaza

Colombian citizens have intensified their protests against Israel’s military actions in Gaza, calling them genocide. teleSUR

00:00In the mix of the tense social and political panorama in Colombia,

00:04citizens do not forget the genocide carried out by the Israeli Zionism in Gaza

00:09and continue to raise their voices.

00:11Our colleague Valeria Cardona tells us the details in the following report.

00:21In the midst of moments of polarization and national convulsion in the country,

00:26there is also space to raise the voice for Palestine.

00:40in order to raise their voices against the genocide in Gaza.

00:50Well, we firmly believe that violence massacre death is not the way.

00:55We are joining different individualities to accompany a process of resistance,

01:03also of strength of seed that is strengthened despite the bombings,

01:08despite the genocide, despite the families that have broken.

01:12We reject all types of violence in this aspect.

01:19We are also tired of that.

01:23This is the answer.

01:24We believe that the answer is life, yes, the answer is art, the word, the music, the theater,

01:31all the artistic languages.

01:34From art it is also possible to have a political commitment,

01:39as expressed by Professor Joan Sanchez from the Faculty of Arts of the National University.

01:43I think we have to do our part. I think we have to be moved by what is happening in Gaza.

01:56We have to be moved by the genocide and the murder of men, women, children and the elderly

02:00who are being exterminated by the Zinnist state, which we cannot describe as anything

02:06less than a fascist state. It is a paradox that the martyrdom of the Jewish people during the

02:11Second World War is used as an excuse for the Zinnist state, which is in reality an enclave

02:17that has been attacking the Arab people since its creation, to continue with its purpose of

02:21exterminating the Palestinian people. However, the mural is not the only act that has united these

02:34people here, since the Colombian Committee in solidarity with Palestine seeks to share the

02:38message of rejection to the export of coal. This coal that at the same time is an ecocide and at

02:46the same time constitutes the elements by which crimes have been committed against the populations.

02:53The communities and our natural resources here in Colombia, this same coal, is the energy metrics

02:59of the drones. Missiles and weapons that at this moment are being used to commit genocide in

03:06Palestine and the Gaza Strip, while Jorge and other comrades in struggle as he calls them socialize in

03:21the university the request sent to the Congress of the Republic, in which they demand compliance with the

03:26decree prohibiting the shipment of coal ships to Israel in the Commission e. the national government.

04:25company. In this way, Colombia continues to demand responsibility and transparency in the country's

04:34trade policies, and in the midst of internal polarization, Colombia seeks to support the

04:39Palestinian people through the actions that everyone can do.
