Can We Celebrate Women in Leadership Without Putting Down Men? | Dr. Don Barden Interview

Summary

Is it possible to acknowledge the rise of women in leadership without male-bashing? Dr. Don Barden says yes—and backs it up with data. In this episode, we explore insights from his new book, Here Come the Girls, which explains why women are positioned to take over global leadership roles from 2028–2032 and how it will positively impact the economy.

Dr. Barden doesn't tear down men to build up women. Instead, he explains how empathy, collaboration, and empowerment—traits often associated with female leaders—are driving superior results in business.

In this short clip, you’ll hear just one of the many reasons women are thriving in leadership today. For the full conversation and all the data behind it, check out the full episode.

00:00So in the year 2028, we will have more women in senior leadership and business ownership than we
00:05have men worldwide. And I mean, everything from the little corner sandwich shop to parliament,
00:11it's going to be dominated by women. That tipping point is going to occur. We can go back to the
00:15math and we can go back to the fifties and the early sixties, how women were starting to go
00:19into areas that were traditionally male to looking at the social construct of why were men there to
00:26begin with? Well, men were the dominant gender in business because of red muscle mass. That was it.
00:33You know, we're, we're, we're pretty good at cutting down trees and plowing fields and turning wrenches
00:36and doing stuff. And the problem is that the agricultural revolution is over. The industrial
00:42revolutionary revolution is over, but we don't have to have a hundred men plowing fields anymore.
00:49We don't have to have 200 lumberjacks clearing fields and cutting down trees. Everything is
00:54moving to an automated thing, which balanced it back out, which meant that as women were building
01:00up within society, becoming more, you know, in tune, having more desire to do things and wanting
01:06to express things differently over the past 50 years, that that is peaking out right at the exact
01:12same time. The need for the red muscle mass isn't there anymore.
01:17Yeah.
01:23That's do it.
01:36Yeah.
01:41Yeah.
01:45Yeah.
01:45Yeah.
01:46What are you doing?
