Ahmedabad (Gujarat), June 11, 2025 (ANI): Ahead of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath’s Jal Yatra was taken out in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on June 11. Saints, Mahants, locals and political leaders were participated in the yatra. The sacred Jal will be brought to the temple by filling 108 pots from the river, and the Lord will be anointed with water brought from the Sabarmati River. Rath Yatra, also known as the "Festival of Chariots," is a significant event in the Hindu calendar, where Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra, is taken out in a grand procession on chariots through the streets of Puri. The festival attracts millions of devotees from around the world. This year, the Jagannath Rath Yatra will commence on June 27. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival is celebrated on the Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha (waxing moon fortnight) in Ashadh.
