00:07What went through your mind as that news broke?
00:09It was a horrible, horrible day because there was enormous violence against the Israelis.
00:18It was quite new as a scene and it was shocking all the more.
00:23And so it was a day of very strong feelings, a day of revolt inside because I didn't know how I would continue to do this job.
00:35But it took me a few hours to come back to census and realize that this event, this violent event, was the product of over 70 years of violence and depredation of Palestine and the Palestinians.
00:51And it had to be resolved as soon as possible.
00:54This was the opportunity to go and resolve the root causes of all violence in the land between the river and the sea, which is an illegal occupation turned into apartheid and unfortunately now escalating into a genocide.
