00:00Good afternoon, friends from the Media Fraternity.
00:05I will be joined briefly by SP East Cassian's district, but we will commence with this briefing.
00:14The state of Meghriya and the people of Meghriya today are relieved that the state police have
00:25been able to crack this case, the murder of Raja Raghurvanchi, and as I had said the other
00:38day that we place our full confidence in the capable state police led by the DGP and the
00:49SP East Cassian's district, and the confidence that we have expressed publicly the other day
00:57has today turned out to be well-placed.
01:03And it is clearly a case that involved a love triangle.
01:11It is also a case where the main accused had engaged contract killers in order to carry
01:25out a heinous crime.
01:29So the state and the people of Meghriya today stand vindicated.
01:33We congratulate the Special Investigation Team, the mountaineering associations, rock climbing
01:45associations, the local people of Sora, the Media Fraternity, who despite very challenging terrain
01:56and the slush in the peak of the monsoon, we have also been able to recover the body of
02:08the victim.
02:10Despite that, the same family had accused that Meghriya police was inefficient.
02:19They were unable to carry out investigation.
02:21And in a span of seven days, the state investigation team has now cracked the case.
02:29So, all together, there are four accused.
02:36The main accused here, the wife of Raja, Sonam Raghuvanchi, had herself surrendered
02:53at the Nungansh Police Station of Ghazipur District, UP.
03:02Along with her, she had taken a group of three other contract killers, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh
03:21Kushnaya, and Anand Kurmi, all residents of Hindu, Madhya Pradesh.
03:35So, the facts of the case have earlier been shared with you by the SP of the district.
03:47He will be here briefly, but at this stage, I must make a few points.
03:54First and foremost is the fact that we have proved that we have a capable police force that
04:02has been able to solve this case, too, that as a state, we continue to play host to tourists
04:13from across the country and abroad.
04:18However, we will continue to do that.
04:22However, we will also keep engaging with the entire local tourist fraternity to ensure that
04:35we upscale our capacity to prevent such incidents.
04:41The role of a section of the national media has also drawn the attention of the state government.
04:54They have been running a media trial over the past one week.
05:02And, in fact, some of the immediate family of both the accused and the victim have also
05:14used very defamatory language against Meagreya.
05:19And there were also instances where they had gone to the extent of inciting people to actually
05:28take revenge against the residents and the people of Meagreya.
05:36The other aspect is that there were questions raised about why were there no guides to accompany
05:46the couple.
05:47It has now been proven beyond doubt that the tourists, the couple, did not agree to the offer
06:01of the service of a guide and, in fact, wanted to go on their own.
06:09And therefore, the state cannot, in fact, force people to take the help and assistance of guides.
06:20But the service is available as and when people opt for it.
06:26So that is all that I have to say at this stage.
06:32The other aspect is that, yeah, as far as the attacks on the image of Meagreya, the media
06:46trial and the slugfest that has been orchestrated by some news channels, the state government has
06:55already through the police department, registered FIRs.
07:00And we will also move through our legal means to ensure that all these perpetrators of this
07:13attack on the image of Meagreya will be brought to book.
07:16So at this stage, our SP of the district is here.
07:20I commend, congratulate him and his team for this brilliant and significant breakthrough in
07:29this case.
07:31And if you have any queries regarding the case per se, you can direct your questions to our
07:38SP, the student.
07:39Well, one thing is that last time the Chief Minister has mentioned that the CCTV cameras
07:50will be installed, firstly, to the high density tourist location.
07:56So when this process will start?
07:59As I said, we will immediately review the entire situation, upscale whatever facilities we
08:08have.
08:09But let me also remind you that tourists also come here to enjoy nature, to enjoy the private
08:16moment.
08:17This couple has come on a honeymoon.
08:20How can we fix CCTVs wherever they go?
08:25Would they like that?
08:27Is it humanly possible for us to fit CCTVs across all gorges in Soura?
08:36Is it even desirable?
08:37But the high density tourist location, will they have CCTV cameras?
08:42We already have.
08:44Actually, a lot of lodges and homestays actually have been advised to have CCTVs and all that.
08:56It becomes very helpful.
08:57And that helps us also, especially in places where you have high footfall.
09:03But it's not possible.
09:04You see the span of that place.
09:08Let me just tell you, the search initially was conducted over 150 square kilometres.
09:15It is not possible in that kind of terrain to have, even in the city, we have just had
09:22a smart city recently, only about 300 cameras.
09:24So you can well imagine that terrain is like, you have gorges and the kind of undergrowth
09:29you have out there.
09:30It is not possible to have everywhere CCTVs.
09:32And so you, we can insist and advise that we do in homestays and certain places where
09:39the footfall is high, hotels, lodges and all that to have CCTVs.
09:42It is helpful.
09:43Hapap, learning from this incident, if you can tell us what sort of measures are we planning
09:48to make sure that even our tourist places are safe and even the tourists coming from
09:52outside, they also have a happy time out here.
09:55See, all our tourist destinations are safe.
09:59Sora itself, this is the first ever case of a crime ever been reported.
10:06There has not been any instances of even assaults on tourists.
10:11But when people come here with the motive of murdering somebody, how does the, how do
10:18we prevent that from happening?
10:20And these are a married couple on their honeymoon.
10:24How do we track their movement when they don't, when they don't, when they refuse the service
10:31of guides as well?
10:33How do we track their movement when they do the service to their people?
10:36How do we track their movement when they take their movement, when they don't
10:41let us to the service of their religion be asked why we are going to know what's
10:46it going to happen, and we then see how the village and the people
10:49and the people and the people as well they absolutely have seen their movement.
10:54This is the application of the expressway.
10:56I see, the police, the police, the police, the police are coming up in the reinforcing
11:01This is what the FFI is going to be done.
11:05I think it's important to know what the FFI is going to be done.
11:11The FFI is a platform that's part of the FFI and the PFI is a program that's part of the FFI.
11:20We are going to talk about how the FFI is done.
11:24In this case, we have to go to the state.
11:28We have to go to the state,
11:31and we have to go to the state.
11:34We have to go to the country,
11:37we have to go to the tourist.
11:40We have to go to the tourist,
11:42and we have to go to the city.
11:46They should have remained indoors and indoors.
11:50Can we go to the city?
