00:00You're a busy gal tonight. You're hosting the pre-show, presenting Hamilton, a new album out.
00:07Tell me how special this night is for you.
00:10My brain is exploding. Every time I turn around, I'm like, oh my god, oh my god.
00:15No, I love this family, and I've been talking about the Hamilton family because I love them so much,
00:21but the family's actually bigger. The family is this entire Broadway community
00:24that is welcoming us to have this 10th anniversary moment in this really spectacular season
00:30that doesn't really have anything to do with our reunion, but their celebration of us means a lot to me.
00:37I love the fact that the world at large is invested in us coming back together
00:43and staying connected to the show. It makes me feel really grateful.
00:47I heard that the rehearsals were yesterday. What was it like reuniting with everyone
00:51and being in that room for the first time in how many years?
00:55It was a lot of group hugs. It was a lot of cheering. It was a lot of tears of joy for me.
01:01I am so happy. I could start crying right now. It's really a dream come true.
01:09When you think back on starting out in Hamilton and how much this show has meant to the world,
01:16what comes to mind?
01:17Well, gratitude and surprise. I just can't believe that something that's given me so much
01:24has more to give. And really just excited. Excited that there are companies all over the country.
01:32Excited that there are so many kids that are not even 10, that were not alive when this came out
01:38and they've embraced this musical. I'm still a little emotional. Excited that this thing has some legs.
01:43We might get a 20. We might get a 20.
01:47How are we going to, what are we doing for the 10 and how are we going to top it for the 20 and 25?
01:52I don't know, but I have a feeling I might be rolling around.
01:56I'm practicing my rolling choreography.
02:00Angelica!
02:01I'm not practicing it.
02:02No, whatever it is, it won't be this.
02:04That's what we're really aware of is that every experience, whether it's 10 or 20 or the original time,
02:13is really unique to itself, which is helping us really savor the moment.
02:18And new projects coming out for you as well. You just dropped an album. Tell us about it.
02:23I have an original album. I'm so proud of it. I'm so excited about it. It's so joyful.
02:29It's 11 original songs and two songs I didn't write, one by Sara Bareilles and another one by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
02:36I'm so proud of it. I'm so proud of it.
02:39And I collaborated with Geniuses and not only the songwriters, but the musicians and the singers on it with me.
02:45It's really great.
