00:00How special is this night for you being here at the Tony?
00:03It's great to be in this community among so many people who inspire me
00:07and I've been fans of for a long time and just to be included is a real honor.
00:11And out of the whole journey of bringing this show to life,
00:15what has been the most special moment for you?
00:19I think when people would come backstage to the stage door after the performance
00:24and tell me that this is the first play they ever saw,
00:27it was special because it means that our message is getting through to people
00:32who don't traditionally come to theater.
00:34And theater needs to expand its audience and I'm glad we were able to do that.
00:39I know doing eight shows a week can get pretty grueling.
00:43Do you have a pre-show or post-show ritual that kind of either resets you
00:47or amps you up for a production?
00:50Meditation matters to me because when we're coming into the theater
00:54after a day of meetings and calls and living life, it's important to reset for me.
01:00And so just taking a quiet moment helps me to do that.
01:04And then I can start to get to work.
01:08Such a special night tonight.
01:10Is there anyone that you haven't been able to see yet or congratulate
01:12that you would love to do so tonight?
01:15Oh, it's a good question.
01:16There are so many people that I've had the pleasure of meeting over the last couple of weeks
01:21and I just can't wait to congratulate all the winners
01:24and congratulate all the nominees.
01:27Who's one person that you would want to thank
01:30for kind of championing your love for the arts and to get you here?
01:35My acting teacher at NYU, Ron Van Loo.
01:38He taught me everything I know about acting
01:39and I'm always grateful to him for whatever success I have.
