Disputée ce dimanche 8 juin autour de la ville de Bruxelles, en Belgique, la Brussels Cycling Classic 2025 a cette année souri aux sprinteurs. Et à ce jeu-là, Tim Merlier a rappelé à quel point il était imbattable pour s'offrir son 8e bouquet de la saison ! Car si les attaquants ont tenté de profiter des trois tours du circuit où s'enchaînaient le Muur-Kapelmuur, le Bosberg et le Congoberg pour faire la différence à la mi-course, le tenant du titre Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno-X Mobility), Edward Planckaert (Alpecin - Deceuninck) et Tim van Dijke (Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe) prenant les devants à 60 bornes de l'arrivée, leur maigre avance n'a pas été suffisante pour aller au bout. Le peloton a eu tout le temps de s'organiser dans ce final moins escarpé, reprenant finalement ce trio à 9 km de l'arrivée, et on a donc assisté à un sprint massif en faux plat montant et vent de face sur l’Avenue Houba de Strooper... sur laquelle Tim Merlier a imposé sa puissance et sa vélocité pour lever les bras.
