00:00Throughout Friday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers executed search warrants

00:05in unmarked military vans at multiple locations across Los Angeles.

00:10Outside a clothing warehouse, a tense scene unfolded as a crowd tried to block agents from driving away.

00:17Later, at the Metropolitan Detention Center, a large crowd gathered in protest.

00:22Let them free! Let them stay!

00:25Our community is under attack and is being terrorized.

00:34These are workers. These are fathers. These are mothers.

00:41And this has to stop.

00:44Officers dispersed tear gas and threw flashbangs to disperse people,

00:48arresting those who refused for unlawful assembly.

00:55Protests also broke out this week in Minneapolis,

00:58when federal officials in tactical gear showed up in a Latino neighborhood to pursue a criminal case.

01:04Federal immigration authorities have been ramping up arrests across the country

01:08to fulfill President Donald Trump's promise of mass deportations.

01:12The head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said this week that they are making around 1,600 arrests per day,

01:20denying that authorities are being too heavy handed.

01:23If sanctuary cities would change their policies and turn these violent criminal aliens over to us, into our custody,

01:31instead of releasing them into the public, we would not have to go out to the communities and do this.

01:35While the Trump administration has been highlighting the arrests of immigrants who have criminal records,

01:40enforcement officers have also been detaining many non-criminal migrants living in the U.S.
