00:00President-elect Donald Trump marked his return to power on Saturday night

00:04with a fireworks showcase at his Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.

00:09Trump had arrived in Washington earlier to celebrate with family,

00:12supporters and political allies ahead of his second inauguration, a triumphant return for

00:18the Republican, four years since he departed after his supporters attacked the Capitol.

00:23Earlier on Saturday, immigrants and their advocates staged protests,

00:27as the administration's plans to detain and deport unauthorized immigrants are set to begin

00:32on the first full day of Trump's new administration. Trump's so-called border czar, Tom Homan,

00:39said the large-scale deportation efforts by Immigration and Customs Enforcement

00:44have been mischaracterized as raids, adding that he preferred the term

00:48targeted enforcement operations.

00:51When ICE goes out, they're going to know exactly who they're looking for and pretty

00:55much where they'll find them. I'm sure we'll be sued, but bring it.

00:59They're not going to stop us. They're not going to bully us from doing this job.

01:04Information about the operations was leaked to the media this week,

01:08including that Chicago was set to be a main target. Because of that, Homan said the

01:13administration is reconsidering where it will focus its deportation sweeps.

01:18Trump also promised mass deportations ahead of his first presidential term back in 2017,

01:24though he ended up removing about half the number of immigrants that his predecessor,

01:28Barack Obama, did during his first four years.
