00:00Hey guys, today we are going to share five spot to cool down in summer here in Sedona,
00:05United States. The summer here is hot and dry. Temperatures can go up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit,
00:11which is about 49 degrees Celsius. So today we are going to show you some of our favorite places
00:17to cool off during the summer months here in Sedona. Let's get started. The first place we
00:22like to go when we want to cool off is Slide Rock State Park. This is a day use park that does
00:28require a fee and it's one of the most popular parks in Arizona. You can do a ton of different
00:33activities here. There's hiking trails, there's a swimming hole, there's rock climbing, there's a
00:38lot of things to do here. One of our favorite things to do here is just to hike the trails
00:43and then take a dip in the swimming hole. When you get to the swimming hole, there's two different
00:48options. You have a natural swimming hole that kind of feeds from Oak Creek and then they also have a
00:54pool area with lifeguards. They also have restrooms and a snack bar and picnic tables if you bring
01:00your own food. The next place we like to go when we are looking to cool off is the West Fork Trailhead.
01:05This trailhead is located outside of Sedona, closer to Flagstaff, and this is also along Oak Creek,
01:12and you can find beautiful swimming holes along this creek as well. This is a great option because
01:17there's less people here than at Slide Rock, and it's free. Now there is no lifeguard,
01:22and there are no restrooms, so make sure you're prepared for that. But other than that,
01:27this is a great option to cool off and have fun in the water. A little heads up, the road to get
01:33here can be a bit rough. It's gravel, and there's lots of potholes, but we made it with our Honda Civic,
01:39so you should be fine even in a low-clearance vehicle. The third place we like to go to cool off
01:44is the river. This is the Verde River, and it's only about 15 minutes from downtown Sedona.
01:50You can find swimming holes and beautiful areas along this river to cool off and relax.
01:56There's also tubing options here, and some outfitters that will drop you off and then
02:01pick you up further down the river. This is another option that doesn't cost anything,
02:05and it's free to get into. Just be aware, there are no facilities here either. There are no restrooms,
02:11so make sure you plan accordingly. We like to bring our own snacks and food,
02:15and then just hang out on the banks of the river. Number 4 is a favorite local swimming hole that we
02:21like to go to. We call it the Secret Swimming Hole. This is not on any maps, so we're not going to tell
02:27you exactly where it is, but we'll give you directions on how to get there. From uptown Sedona,
02:33head south on 89A towards Page. After you pass the airport, you'll see Airport Road on your right.
02:39Take that road all the way to the end. At the end of Airport Road, you'll see a dirt road on your left.
02:45Take that dirt road all the way to the end, and you'll see another dirt road. Take that dirt road
02:51all the way up, and at the top of the hill, you'll see a small neighborhood. Go past the houses,
02:58and you'll see the entrance to the swimming hole on your left. There's a sign that says no trespassing,
03:04but if you go past that sign, you'll see the swimming hole. This is a great option because
03:09there's not usually many people here, and it's a really beautiful swimming hole. The water is icy
03:15cold and refreshing. There are a few downsides to this swimming hole. First of all, it's kind of hard
03:21to get to, so if you're not up for an adventure, this might not be the best option for you.
03:27Another downside is there is trash here. People tend to leave their trash behind,
03:31so if you're one of those people that can't enjoy something unless it's clean,
03:36this probably won't be for you either. We personally don't mind getting a little dirty,
03:41so we love this swimming hole. If you're looking for a swimming hole that has everything,
03:46this isn't it. But if you're looking for a swimming hole that's off the beaten path and has
03:51beautiful scenery, we highly recommend this place. Our number five spot to cool off is Devil's Bridge.
03:57Now, Devil's Bridge is a hike, and at the end of the hike you'll find a natural sandstone bridge
04:03that sits above a creek. And this is a great place to cool off because you can jump off the
04:08bridge into the water below. Be warned, though, this water is ice cold and pretty deep, so make
04:14sure you know what you're getting yourself into before you jump. It's also really fun to sit on
04:18the bridge and just hang your feet in the water. This is another option that's free, but there is
04:23limited parking at the trailhead, so you might have to walk a bit from where you actually park
04:28to get to the trailhead itself. Also, this hike is moderate to difficult, so be prepared for that
04:35before you start the hike. These are five of our favorite places to cool off in the summer here in
04:40Sedona. Now, these are just our favorite places. We know there's tons more swimming holes and creeks
04:46and rivers around here, so if you have a favorite place that you like to cool off, let us know in the
04:51comments. We always love trying new things. Also, remember to subscribe for more travel tips and
