00:00Thank you. The National Security Council was reorganized or some staffing changes were made
00:05the Friday before Memorial Day. I'm hoping you can explain sort of the new structure,
00:12what the structure is of the National Security Council, what the goal is in terms of staffing
00:15levels. What is the new National Security Council mode? Well, as with everything in this White House,
00:24it is a top-down approach. The President is here. He is President. He's not an auto pen like the
00:30previous President was. He's very much involved in literally every policy discussion and decision
00:36that takes place. And we felt it was best to reorganize the National Security Council to respond
00:42to that top-down approach that we have here in this White House and to streamline the efficiency
00:48and the effectiveness of the National Security Council. And I would add that Secretary of State
00:53Rubio and now National Security Advisor Rubio is doing a tremendous job at leading the National
00:58Security Council. He knows the President. He understands where the President is on these
01:02issues. He's great to work with here at the White House. I can tell you that. I appreciate seeing
01:07him a lot more in the building. And he and the President and the entire National Security Council,
01:12who's made up of great patriots who love this country, are doing a tremendous job on the many
01:17conflicts around the world that this administration inherited. Is there a dual staffing level?
01:22MS. I'm sorry?
01:23Is there a goal for the staffing level, like the number of people who would be in this
01:27National Security Council?
01:28MS. Look, we just want the National Security Council to be as efficient as possible. And
01:32if staffing needs are necessary, I'm sure Secretary Rubio would not mind hiring people if necessary.
01:38But again, we've been working with them day in and day out, and they're chugging along and doing
01:42great work.
