01:53Meantime, Congresswoman-elect Laila de Lima says the regular Senate has no power to dismiss an impeachment case

02:02The war between the two chambers of Congress intensifies as Senate President Chief Escudero
02:09accuses congressmen of blind obedience to House Speaker Martin Romualdez
02:14This after some lawmakers strongly urged the Senate to proceed with the trial

02:20Well, if it's the job of some lawmakers to blindly follow Romualdez, that is not our job in the Senate
02:26Gabriela Representative Arlene Brosas, who is one of the five lawmakers to endorse one of three impeachment complaints
02:33against Vice President Sara Duterte said, Macabayan is not subservient to the Speaker of the House
02:39Other lawmakers including Bataan lawmaker Geraldine Roman and Manila lawmaker Rolando Valeriano
02:45say Escudero's claim is baseless and their votes to impeach Duterte was not the Speaker's call
02:51Escudero was at the receiving end of criticism for moving the Articles of Impeachment's reading from June 2 to June 11

03:18The two agencies do not object to reducing the PhilHealth premium rate to 3.5 from 5 percent
03:24Both chambers of Congress have proposed changes to the Universal Health Care Act, including lowering the contribution rate
03:31The Senate version, which was passed in August last year, suggests cutting the premium rates to 3.25 percent
03:38Meanwhile, the House of Representatives version, passed in February, proposes reducing it to 3.5 percent
03:45The Finance Department earlier said it was against the rate cut and suggested that PhilHealth focus on improving its benefit packages instead
03:53The Economic Group Action for Economic Reforms also asked the Senate to delay passing the bill, concerned that cutting the rate could harm

04:04Human immunodeficiency virus infection cases in the Philippines are on the rise
04:09The Department of Health raises concern after recording 6,703 HIV cases from January to April 2025, an average of 56 new cases a day
04:19This is 44 percent higher than the same time last year
04:23Most of the new cases were among people aged 15 to 25, with a 500 percent increase
04:29Health Secretary Chidoro Herbosa says the country now has the highest number of new HIV cases in the Western Pacific region, leading the DOH to ask President Marcos to declare a national public health emergency
04:42The whole of society and the whole of government can help us in this campaign to reduce new cases of HIV
04:51As of April 2025, there were around 150,000 people living with HIV in the Philippines
04:57Most cases are now found in younger people, half are aged 25 to 34
05:02The DOH said HIV is still mainly spread through sexual contact, with about 83 percent of cases since 1984, involving males having sexual intercourse with males
05:12However, non-profit organization HIV and AIDS Support House notes that the increase may be attributed to more people getting tested
05:19Michael J. Fox and other stars of classic film Back to the Future appealed for help finding the red Gibson guitar featured in a memorable scene
05:30Marty McFly, the time-traveling teen played by Fox in the 1985 movie, surprised students at a 1950s high school dance with wild electric guitar riffs on a Gibson ES-345 cherry red guitar
05:43The guitar disappeared after filming ended
05:46In a video released by Gibson, Fox joked
