00:00The Royals today, DRS on the road. Michael Lorenzen gets the start. Andre Pallante on the
00:05other side for St. Louis. The Cardinals, pretty hefty home favorite. Total stands at nine.
00:11What can we expect out of Caglione? What can we expect for the opener of this midweek rivalry set?
00:17Well, the one thing we're not questioning now in a couple games that we've talked about already
00:20this morning is weather conditions. How about 82 degrees in St. Louis with a hefty double-digit
00:25wind blowing up the Big Mac land out there in left field. We'll see if that has a difference
00:29tonight. Well, Michael Lorenzen hasn't been a great pitcher on the season and leaking oil as of late.
00:33The last 126 batters that he's faced have an ISO against of 241 and a weighted on base percentage
00:39of 379. If we look at just lefties alone, that elevates to a 333 ISO and a weighted on base
00:46percentage of 445. There aren't a lot of great left-handed bats in the lineup today. Usually
00:50Nupar is one of those guys you focus on. Average ISO, average weighted on base percentage over the
00:54past 30 days against right-handed pitching. But you take a look at Brandon Donovan in the three hole,
00:58not a lot of power, but a 405 weighted on base percentage there, which is somebody you might want
01:03to focus on. Then Alec Burleson in the seven hole, a 281 ISO and a 417 weighted on base percentage.
01:08They should get some pretty good swings here, but you still do need some of those guys in the
01:11middle of that lineup to get on base. Not in love with that Cardinals lineup, but they should be
01:15able to hit Michael Lorenzen in these temperatures at home. Andre Palante on the other side, he's got
01:20some pretty good numbers, but starting to leak a little bit to right-handed batters. His last 57
01:24right into batters he's faced. How about a 135 ISO? He said, I thought he was leaking oil. That
01:28weighted on base percentage, a 421. Doesn't strike out very many batters. The ball being in play
01:34on a day with as nice as it's going to be in St. Louis with hitting weather does certainly bring
01:38it up. So if you're looking at right-handed batters, Bobby Witt in the middle of that lineup,
01:41253 ISO, 335 weighted on base percentage against right-handed pitching over the past couple weeks
01:46here. Michael Garcia as well. Those are the guys that are looking. Not great lineups to know. So if you're
01:51just fading the atmosphere saying it's a good hitting ballpark, it's hot temperatures,
01:56not great pitchers on the mound, maybe go that direction. But a couple of the batters I pointed
01:59out make some sense. Jack Caglione, hey, we've seen guys have great appearances here. First
02:03bat up, bang, lift one into the seats. So I'm excited to see what he actually does. It looks
02:08like he's expected to be in that five spot here after Vinny Plasquantino, Salvador Perez,
02:13and before Michael Garcia.
