00:00Throughout spring 2025, we've seen prolonged periods of high pressure.

00:04Not only has high pressure frequently visited the shores of the UK,

00:08but when it's turned up, it's just stuck around for a long time.

00:11And so we've seen periods of a week, two weeks, three weeks of settled weather.

00:16Those high pressure systems keeping the cloud and rain away from the Atlantic

00:20and keeping skies clear. That's why we've seen so much sunshine.

00:24We have seen briefer periods of low pressure,

00:27but when low pressure arrived, it never lasted for long before high pressure returned.

00:33And that's certainly been the prevailing pattern up until the last week of May.
