00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Cousin Betts and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about disposable vapes.
00:05And that's because at the start of this week they were banned.
00:08There was a lot of argument that they were being advertised towards children and were getting children hooked on nicotine at a young age.
00:14Are people in favour of the ban or are they worried that people will simply turn to finding illegal ways to vape instead?
00:21Everyone has a vice and I suppose if you just move on to those things, well, there's worse vices for people to have.
00:28I think from an environmentalist perspective, I'm very much for the use of banning those single-use plastics.
00:33But like I said, I think, you know, people will just turn to using more sort of permanent vapes and that I think will just be the way forward.
00:42I think generally it's a good thing the disposable vapes are going, right?
00:46I mean, there's people that weren't smokers that just got hooked on those straight off.
00:50And also they just litter the streets and that lithium is just being kind of thrown about.
00:55So that I will have an opinion on.
00:58I think that's a good thing.
00:59Yeah.
