Is vaping just as bad as smoking?

This national non-smoking day, we’re asking people around Cardiff for their thoughts on whether quitting cigarettes for vaping is a worthwhile swap or if vapes are just as bad.

00:00It's too new to know the results. I think years down the line people will know the

00:04results on people's lungs from vaping but I don't know personally because I never

00:09smoked so but I think in years to come we will see the results of vaping.

00:14So I initially came off of cigarettes and went to vaping and vaping was giving me

00:19heart palpitations and I had like really bad like like heartburn and really bad

00:23effects from it so I've actually gone back to cigarettes now which I don't

00:26have the problems with but yeah vaping is worrying because there's a lack of

00:29long-term research and you only need to smoke for a couple of years vapes

00:33yourself to realize that actually it is bad.

00:36The dangers of smoking are so transparent you know we've known about a few years you know there's been

00:41endless amounts of research because smoking has been a thing people have

00:44done for so long and you know we don't know all the long-term adverse effects

00:48of things like vaping but that's not what concerned necessarily concerns me

00:53about vaping it is how heavily marketed they are and how easy they are to access.
