00:00So once again, Scotty Scheffler, I guess you could say Smiley is on a heater.
00:05I guess we could say over the last five, six weeks, what's he won?
00:10Three of his last four starts or four of his last five starts.
00:13It's hard to keep up once he starts racking them up at this rate,
00:17but to win back-to-back years at Jack's tournament, the Memorial,
00:21and once again doing it in the fashion that he did,
00:24Ben Griffin played really well and had a chance to win the tournament too,
00:28obviously, but Scotty locked in again, Smiley.
00:32Yeah, it's back to regular scheduling for programming for Scotty Scheffler.
00:37He's somehow even statistically hitting some marks that he's higher this year
00:43than he was last year, which is kind of scary with the rest of the season
00:47as it plays out.
00:48He very well could win the next two major championships.
00:51He could win the U.S. Open.
00:52He very well could win the Open and have a chance for his own Scotty Slam
00:56heading to Augusta next year.
00:57That's how good a golf he's playing, and it's not that far-fetched.
01:00Getting to watch him firsthand this past week at Memorial,
01:03following his group for a couple days, you just wouldn't believe it, Mike.
01:07I've never seen someone just have this much control of their golf ball
01:12and be so elite at every single part of his game.
01:17And it's not just the physical stuff, too.
01:20It's the mental side of the game that's so impressive.
01:22He's able to just dissect every single shot as its own.
01:27And on a golf course that I talked to so many players last week, Mike,
01:32that just said, this place stresses me out every single shot.
01:36I feel like it's so hard to get committed, especially when you have small greens,
01:40firm greens, a lot of rough, and wind.
01:43And here's Scotty just like, eh, I'm just going to feather a little 7-iron in.
01:47No problem to a small green on Sunday.
01:50It's a 15-feet exact shot he's supposed to hit.
01:54It's phenomenal.
01:56And some people think it's boring to watch.
01:58I think it's fascinating to watch how easy he makes the game look.
02:03He really does make it look easy.
02:06And I just wanted to go look.
02:07I mean, he's plus 260 for Oakmont next week.
02:11No, he's not.
02:12Plus 260.
02:14This is a major championship that is going to be.
02:18And like you just said, these guys, I heard a lot of guys talking,
02:21and you were there, obviously, trying to prepare themselves.
02:23That was a good test for what Oakmont's going to be like
02:26in terms of the size of the rough and the different things.
02:29Like, I mean, come on, smile.
02:30He's just going to show up at Oakmont next week and smash everybody there, too.
02:33Not going to be that easy at Oakmont for him, is it?
02:37Well, I think the only thing that could hold him back is driving accuracy.
02:43If he has.
02:45Well, he's like, he's honestly, he's a 65 to 66% accuracy
02:52from a driver of the golf ball standpoint.
02:55The leaders on tour are right around like 70% as far as their ability to hit the fairways.
03:00We're talking about a player who's long and hits 65% of his fairways.
03:05That's what sets up his entire game.
03:08Maybe not quite as much as like a Rory who really, really hits it far.
03:11But because he is so ridiculously good at hitting his number, that's going to bode so well for him at Oakmont.
03:19I played the U.S. Open there at the last one in 16.
03:21And it's really a golf course, Mike, that requires you, first off, to find fairways.
03:27Because these bunkers, everything rolls to the lips and you basically have to punch everything out.
03:32And then greens that are rolling in the high 14.
03:35So these greens have so much slope.
03:37And players that can somehow manage, you know, the flight and spin into these greens
03:42where they can have uphill putts, you'll be able to make some birdies.
03:45But the guys that keep the doubles off the card are most likely to be the ones that are in the hunt.
03:51And Scotty Scheffler is the best at keeping the bogeys off the card.
