00:00Thank you, Mr. President.
00:04Mr. President, I'd ask that my subsequent remarks
00:08be treated as separate in the
00:12record from what I just said. Without objection.
00:16Thank you, Mr. President. I just want to thank my colleague from Iowa very much,
00:20Mr. Chairman, for your acknowledging the horrific
00:24terrorist act in Boulder yesterday.
00:28And I will be out here later with my colleague, Senator
00:32Hickenlooper, to talk about it at greater length. But people
00:36were there week after week after week to mark
00:40the horrendous hostage taking that's occurred
00:44in Gaza and
00:48that Hamas has refused to address. Hostages
00:52Hamas, only Hamas can release. This war could
00:56end tomorrow if Hamas
00:58released the hostages.
01:00People all over this country and all over
01:02the world
01:04have marched in solidarity
01:06for our hostages.
01:08And yesterday, the people in Boulder,
01:10Colorado were savagely
01:12attacked by a terrorist while
01:14they were expressing their First Amendment
01:16rights. That should never
01:18happen in this country.
01:20And again, I thank
01:22the chairman,
01:24my colleague, and my friend from Iowa
01:26for
01:28coming to the floor to discuss that today.
01:30Thank you, Mr. President. I yield the floor
01:32and I suggest the absence of a quorum.
