00:00Let's actually attack this then from the Pacer angle because the 94 points that they scored was their fewest this postseason.
00:08First time actually under 100 points and the consecutive Tyrese Halliburton games brought out a lot of conversations.
00:16Game number four, 32-12-15, four steals.
00:20You could argue the best game anyone's played this whole postseason.
00:24I think it comfortably ranks inside that top five.
00:26But the follow-up performance is something we've seen from Halliburton before.
00:30Single-digit scoring, six assists.
00:33His team got rocked.
00:34That's what happened ultimately for the Pacers on the road.
00:39Is Tyrese Halliburton a top 10 player?
00:41Maybe the other question is, does it matter if Tyrese Halliburton is a top 10 player?
00:47But tell me, Tom, how do you view Halliburton right now as his team has gone out there and played 15 games so far this postseason?
00:55Well, the range of outcomes that we've seen from him is largely what we saw at the beginning portion of the season where he was vastly inconsistent, especially when it comes to scoring.
01:04And this is coming off of a summer where he played in the Olympics.
01:07I'm not saying he played a whole ton, but still a busy summer of basketball.
01:12An inconsistent level that I certainly didn't like from a betting angle at the beginning portion of the season.
01:17But overall, outside of that one game versus the Cavs in game three, he has been pretty awesome this postseason.
01:24I think it's the level, it's kind of, you know, we mentioned with Tatum, not to bring that back up.
01:27But there's like some dud games that you could look back at his game log and you're like, okay, that's a little bit weird.
01:32We shouldn't be expecting that from a player that's, you know, arguably top 15, top 20, whatever might be in the league.
01:37So, yeah, he's under 10 points.
01:38A complete bad game by really all standards.
01:41I'm expecting not the 32-point triple-double that he had the other night, and obviously not an 8-point outing.
01:47As you said, if the Pacers run a little bit, obviously Halliburton will be the one kind of leading that charge.
01:52I expect him to be at that 19-20 point mark, 12 assists, adding a few rebounds.
01:58And it really comes down to what the rest of the offense does around him.
02:01Are we going to see, because it wasn't just Halliburton, but we often talk about the way he affects the offense overall
02:06leads into Siakam having a good game, leads into Turner having a good game.
02:11So, I'm fine with one bad performance, but this is like time to put up or shut up if you want to be considered one of the best in the league.
02:18Well, I think, you know, people want to sit here and listen, it wasn't a good game.
02:23We don't have to get into that.
02:24But the guy averaged 18.6, 9.2 in a regular season.
02:28It's giving you 18.7 and 9.5 in a full season.
02:31So, if you really look at his numbers, he's right where he needs to be.
02:36It just wasn't a good game.
02:38I think the key thing to look at this series is in the five games, it's in the fact of, it's in shock creativity for others.
02:46Okay?
02:46Two games that they've lost, six and seven assists, three games they've won, 11 assists or more.
02:52It's right there.
02:53It's his ability to create for others.
02:56And it goes two ways, right?
02:58It is, can Indiana get into transition?
03:02Meaning, can they turn the Knicks over and get this game up and down?
03:07Because that's where Tyrese excels in the ability to get the ball up, find people into their spots,
03:13but also get the guys open for an open three in transition, which, let's be honest, guys,
03:17Indiana is deadly on our transition threes.
03:21So, if they can get into transition and run, it makes Halliburton better.
03:27So, Halliburton, yes, has to play better, but he's also a product of what's around him, right?
03:33So, if Indiana can't force transition, right?
03:37If they can't secure offensive rebounds, you're taking away what Halliburton does well.
03:44So, yes.
03:45Can Tyrese be better?
03:47Absolutely.
03:47And I'm not expecting seven shots.
03:49But the guys around him have to be better as well, which then gives him the ball in space, Kevin,
03:56to allow him to do what he does best.
03:57So, let's go.
