US President Donald Trump said Elon Musk is “really not leaving” and that he believes the tech billionaire will still be “back and forth” to give his advice to the Department of Government Efficiency that he headed for four months.   The administration bade farewell to Musk at a press conference on the Tesla CEO's final day as DOGE head on May 30. 00:08I've seen the luck. The luck of this is amazing.

00:13I'm hired to be with Elon, who's my friend, and he's done a fantastic job.

00:18Many of the Doge people, Elon, are staying behind, too, so they're not leaving.

00:23And Elon's really not leaving. He's going to be back and forth, I think. I have a feeling.

00:27It's his baby, and I think he's going to be doing a lot of things.

00:31This is not the end of Doge, but really the beginning.

00:35My time as a special government employee necessarily had to end.

00:38It was a limited time thing. It's 134 days, I believe, which ends in a few days.

00:42So that, you know, it comes with a time limit.

00:47But the Doge team will only grow stronger over time.

00:51The Doge influence will only grow stronger.

00:54I think the Doge team is doing an incredible job.

00:56They're going to continue doing an incredible job.

00:59And I'll continue to be visiting here and be a friend and advisor to the president.

01:07And with Elon's guidance, they're helping to detect fraud slash waste and modernize broken and outdated systems.

01:14So, as you know, we're talking about various systems and changing systems.

01:18And, you know, sadly, it takes a long time to do that.

01:21So we're going to get a brand new modern system.

01:23Congress is working with us on that.

01:25And we're going to get it done as quickly as we can.

01:27But it's in the works.

01:29And once it's done, it'll be good for 30 years.

01:32It's an unbelievable bill.

01:33It cuts your deficits.

01:35It cuts, you know, it's a huge cutting.

01:37But there's things I'd like to see maybe cut a little bit more.

01:40I'd like to see a bigger cut in taxes.

01:42It's going to be the largest tax decrease or cut in the history of our country.

01:47I'd like to see it get down to an even lower number.

01:51I was shooting for a slightly lower number.

01:54I would have liked to have done that instantly, not when you go back to Congress and try and get hundreds of people to agree.

02:01But I'm like, what about the origin of the world?
