Colombia has withdrawn its earlier condolence message over deaths in Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor, following strong objection from Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. Leading a multi-party foreign tour, Tharoor stated there can be no moral equivalence between terrorists and national defenders. A revised statement from Colombia is expected.

01:07minister received us we had some good news that they have withdrawn their
01:11statement that had disappointed us earlier and will issue a statement of
01:15strong support for our position and understanding for our position our
01:18delegation has had a very big
01:22with the explanation that we received today and with the detailed information
01:36that we now have regarding the real situation of the conflict between what
01:43what in what happened in Kashmir we can follow and continue the dialogue we had seen how Colombia had given a statement which was in favor of Pakistan India had said that those statements coming in from
01:51Colombia they were not in line with what India believes in and now we are seeing Colombia now strongly supporting India new statement that was in
01:58issued by Columbia after the Indian delegation expressed displeasure because Colombia had given out the initial statement coming in from Colombia and now we are seeing Colombia now strongly supporting India new statement has been issued by Colombia after the Indian delegation expressed displeasure
02:28from Colombia was from Colombia was from Colombia and the last statement has said that they will continue to have a dialogue with India
02:35my colleague Pranay is now joining me on the story Pranay a u-turn we are now seeing coming in from Colombia India very clearly had said that the statement that they had made was in favor of Pakistan and it was something that the Indian government was not comfortable with
02:52changing or retracting its official statement is a very big thing and especially by a reach out of another country if they are convinced with the facts that you know the case which was presented with for them has made a situation to change there is a big thing and especially after the meeting with Indian delegation led
03:17by former minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor this delegation has strongly presented India's case before Colombian Colombian government and you know you could see the visuals where the Rosa Yolanda who is the vice minister for foreign affairs in Colombia government has accepted the fact that it has changed Colombia's opinion and now we have decided to retract our statement because Shashi Tharoor not only expressed India's disappointment with the fact that you know India carried out strikes
03:46strikes against terrorists those who got killed in Pakistan are mostly terrorists on 7th of May and therefore if Colombia expresses disappointment it was not a civilian loss of life but but the loss of life you know of the terrorists because those are targets which were engaged and struck down by India under operations
04:05and therefore it was actually the terror and therefore it was actually the terror headquarters and therefore it's a very significant development more so Aishwarya that many questions were being raised in India domestically that why we are carrying out such a big you know a foreign tour foreign plans and engagement plan what results these engagements are yielding this is the biggest evidence this is the biggest result of such engagement what India has decided to carry out and we may see you know further development we may see like you know further such announcements
04:35the issue will be the issue will be the issue will be the issue will be taken up at international platforms be it United Nations Security Council United Nations General Assembly or even the FATF or World Bank and IMF we may see positive results after this reach out
04:47right Pranay thank you giving us all those details Pranay also saying that with this outreach we could also see big lenders to Pakistan like the IMF we could see positive results coming in from the World Bank and the IMF also in days to come
