00:00Senate President Chief Escudero has moved the timeline of Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
00:06This is to allow the Senate to tackle priority measures before the 19th Congress adjourns on June 13.
00:12Prosecutors from the House of Representatives were initially set to read out the articles of impeachment on June 2 when session resumes.
00:19This has been moved to June 11, the last session day of the 19th Congress.
00:24Escudero said that with only six session days left before the Sine D.A. adjournment,
00:28it is important for the Senate and the House to prioritize the passage of the administration's priority bills.
00:34Prosecutors presenting the articles of impeachment is the first step in the trial.
00:38After that, the Senate convenes as an impeachment court and issues summonses.
00:42The Vice President then has 10 days to respond, to which House prosecutors have 5 days to reply.
