00:30Question Sunny.
00:36It seems like you have to be quite patient during this clay court season.
00:41You had a couple of tough losses, a couple of physical issues, I think.
00:45What was that like, experiencing it and how pleased are you with the way that you work through it to get to the point where you're playing at such a high level in Paris?
00:54Yeah, I mean, sort of part of the game.
00:56I think results also ebb and flow a bit.
01:00So, yeah, I mean, I was dealing with a little bit of injuries here and there,
01:03but I'm happy with the way my team and I have been able to, you know, manage it,
01:08stay positive, and just trust the process
01:11because, I mean, we've been doing a lot of tough work out there,
01:14and I'm feeling good physically now,
01:16so I'm just happy to be having a good run here.
01:19And, yeah, I mean, I'm really enjoying it out there,
01:22and I'm happy to be through to the fourth round.
01:29Hey, Amanda, well done.
01:30How much do your memories of your past success in a place like this help you along,
01:38even just sort of not even match-to-match,
01:41but just sort of like day-to-day familiarity, comfort level, things like that?
01:45Or is it just it's a completely different year that was a lifetime ago?
01:50So I'm sort of curious what your thoughts are on that.
01:54Yeah, I think for sure when I first got here,
01:56I was getting some, you know, like flashbacks and good memories.
02:00I think every time I come here, I get a little bit of that,
02:03but once I get started and get into the groove of the tournament,
02:06I try to stay really present and in the moment.
02:09So, yeah, I mean, it's 2025 now, so that's how I look at it.
02:14But, yeah, I mean, it's always nice to have that kind of in the back of my head
02:18that, you know, I had a great run here,
02:21and also hopefully that, you know, the fans remember that
02:24and how they were carrying me through.
02:25So, yeah, it was a good atmosphere today, so I really enjoyed it.
02:30Well done.
02:31You've had some good results against Serena before.
02:33I just wondered how you think your games kind of match up to one another.
02:36Yeah, I mean, we're both some pretty big hitters,
02:41so I'm sure, you know, we're going to be going at it back and forth a bit.
02:45But, yeah, obviously one of the best right now.
02:48She's number one, and, yeah, I feel like it's always a good matchup.
02:51I really enjoy the fight and the challenge that she brings on,
02:55so I'm just looking forward to it.
02:57And, yeah, hopefully I can bring my A game,
03:00and, yeah, hopefully it will be a good match.
03:03Hi, man.
03:04Sorry to ask another question about sort of the past,
03:08but you had that incredible run,
03:10and since then you've had a really special, incredible,
03:15sometimes very tough journey.
03:18Can you just talk about what you've learned, the lessons,
03:22how it's made you stronger, how you've changed?
03:26Yeah, it's definitely been a journey since,
03:29and, you know, I've had some amazing moments
03:32and some very tough moments and phases.
03:35So, yeah, it's been quite a ride,
03:38and I think the most important thing is just the people I surround myself with,
03:42the team I have,
03:43and, yeah, I think that's what drives me every day,
03:47especially having fun off of the court.
03:49I think that's the most important thing,
03:52and the wins aren't going to happen if you're not happy off of the court.
03:57Hi, Amanda.
04:00What is your approach to when you look at playing somebody again
04:05that you've played quite a bit in the past,
04:07and you've had success against in the past?
04:09How much is this, starting from a blank slate,
04:12how much of this is thinking about those matches against Arena before,
04:17and what worked for you then, what maybe didn't?
04:22How do you approach it?
04:25I don't think too much goes on in my head.
04:27I mean, obviously, I know her game style.
04:29We've played each other quite a few times,
04:31so, I mean, just knowing the way that she plays, likes to play,
04:35I think that's enough for me to think about,
04:37and, yeah, I mean, I try and just focus on myself mostly
04:40with each match that I go into,
04:43so I'll be trying to focus on, you know, bringing my strengths
04:48and doing whatever I can to, you know, play my best tennis.
04:52I think that's what's most important.
04:54And can I ask a follow-up?
04:56Just in terms of the different surfaces in tennis,
05:00and coming here to the clay,
05:04how much do you find that you try to adjust your game at all
05:10to the particular surface,
05:11or is it essentially your game is what your game is
05:16and you don't want to make too many changes in that way?
05:21Yeah, I mean, for the most part,
05:22I try and stick to the same tactics
05:24and the same game style, I'd say.
05:27But for sure, you know,
05:28you have to make a few adjustments here and there,
05:30and it depends on the opponent you play.
05:33Clay can be tricky, so I do sometimes make adjustments,
05:36but it just depends on the match.
05:39When you go up against the world number one
05:42or, you know, multiple-time champion,
05:45do you use that to pump you up,
05:48pump yourself up as sort of extra motivation,
05:50or do you try and, you know,
05:53see the opponent as, you know,
05:55just another woman in the locker room?
05:58No, for sure.
05:59I mean, it's always special to play someone
06:02who's ranked number one in the world.
06:04It's not often you get to do that,
06:06so I really try and embrace the opportunity
06:08and the experience.
06:10It'll be on a big court, too.
06:11I love playing on big stadiums,
06:13so, yeah, I mean,
06:15I'm just going to try and go in there
06:16and really enjoy the atmosphere,
06:19enjoy the crowd,
06:20and, yeah, try to put up a fight.
06:22But I'd say it's always a little bit more different
06:25and special when you play against the top players.
06:27Okay, last question.
06:33I think you've been serving pretty well
06:35during this tournament.
06:37I'm just curious how that shot has developed,
06:39like how you see the development of that shot
06:41over the years
06:41and technically what changes you've made
06:43to kind of optimize it.
06:45I guess you're known as, like, a great returner,
06:47but you'll serve as also an asset,
06:48so, yeah, how do you see that shot?
06:51Yeah, it's definitely been something
06:52I've been trying to improve throughout the year.
06:54We've made a few adjustments.
06:56Like, technically and strength-wise
06:58to try and get a faster serve
07:00and work on my placement more.
07:02So, I'm really happy with how it's been progressing
07:05and, yeah, it can be a good asset to my game.
07:08So, I hope it keeps improving.
07:10What kind of changes did you go on?
07:13I mean, you want me to tell you
07:14about the technique I've changed?
07:16Yeah, they're just really small changes to my serve.
