00:17Yeah, so, I mean, my first Grand Slam, the experience was pretty nice, you know.
00:23I mean, to make the round of 32 anyways, I think it's a pretty good result for me.
00:29Today was a tough battle against Akinwen, but she played really good tennis and lots of things to learn
00:36and hopefully come back in my next tournament with some more positives and improved on my game.
00:44Questions, comments, please.
00:47Hi. Could you tell us, for people who don't follow you daily, what the role Nathalie Toussaint had for your career was, if there was any role?
01:01Yeah, so I've known Nathalie since I was a junior. She was a part-time coach at Tennis Canada.
01:09I didn't really travel with her a lot as a junior, but starting this year, she was traveling more and more with me,
01:16especially at the beginning of this year, when she could.
01:20And, I mean, she's been with me for most of my tournaments so far this year.
01:24And, yeah, she's great to work with, you know, she knows me very well.
01:29And I think that makes things a lot easier, especially when the coach already knows your personality
01:35and what you like and what you don't like. So, those things have been working out pretty well.
01:41And, yeah.
01:42Yes, question right there.
01:44After the accident and the stands, was it a problem for you to continue playing?
01:49Yeah, I mean, yeah, it was a very abrupt thing that happened.
01:54I had no idea even what was going on at the beginning.
01:58But, yeah, I didn't really sit down because I wanted to keep the blood flowing
02:03and I was bouncing around on the changeover on the seat.
02:07But, I don't think it was that much of a stop for me because I won the game after anyways.
02:16But, yeah, it was unfortunate that that had to happen during the match.
02:19But, I think it was fine. I think I handled it fine.
02:23Hi. I want to go back to your coach a little bit.
02:30So, on the tour, we don't have that many female tour coaches.
02:37So, maybe it's a little bit tough for you to compare.
02:41But, what do you think is the benefit, as a female player,
02:44what do you think is the benefit of having a female coach by your side?
02:48Yeah, so, I feel like, for me, having a male or female coach
02:53doesn't really make that big of a difference.
02:57Of course, having a female there, you relate a lot more.
03:01I mean, they know more of the woman's game
03:04and they know the struggles that a woman can go through on tour.
03:08So, in that aspect, it could be a little bit easier
03:11to try to understand some things that a man cannot.
03:14But, overall, I mean, I feel like I'm very lenient towards those things.
03:19Like, whether I had a male coach, it wouldn't be that different for me anyways.
03:25Hi. Did you suffer the conditions? Sun, heat? Or it was okay for you?
03:31Yeah, I mean, today, it wasn't too, too hot.
03:34I mean, of course, today was one of the warmest days, I think, of the tournament.
03:39But, overall, it was, I think I felt fine on court.
03:43I mean, it was pretty hot.
03:44But, I think we were both playing pretty fine
03:47and we didn't really suffer that much.
03:51Victoria, now that you've played three top ten players,
03:54Bedosa, Coco, and now Zhang,
03:57can you compare who hits harder,
04:00whose ball is tougher to handle for you?
04:03How could you sort of compare the three of them?
04:05Honestly, I think all three of them hit pretty hard.
04:11No, but all three of them also have a very unique game.
04:14I mean, Kunwen today, she has really heavy and hard balls,
04:19or, yeah, shots on her ball.
04:21So, I mean, I think I was struggling a lot with that,
04:24especially on the clay.
04:25Her ball was really effective.
04:26And, you know, Coco, she was very athletic.
04:29She moves very well and she's on every single ball
04:33and she still hits powerful shots.
04:36And maybe with Paula, she hits also an incredibly hard ball.
04:40But, you know, I played all three of them on different surfaces,
04:43so it's kind of hard to compare.
04:46But, yeah, it's obviously a really difficult level to play against them,
04:51but I'm glad to have experienced that overall against them.
04:55I guess that was the actual question.
04:57Now that you've seen what the level is at the very, very top level,
05:01do you sort of go to work and figure out what you need to do
05:04to be able to stay in rallies all day long with that quality of ball?
05:09Yeah, I mean, that could also just relate to the fitness aspect, too.
05:13You know, I feel like hitting-wise,
05:17I think I could also handle the shots as well, too.
05:20I mean, I've been playing against a lot of hard hitters anyways,
05:24but I think it's just a matter of fitness, a matter of stamina
05:27and a lot of working in the gym towards those stuff.
05:31And I think it's just a matter of time at the end of the day.
05:35Question over here.
05:36Sorry, I came in a little bit late.
05:42I'm not sure whether you asked this question.
05:44How do you feel about Tianwen's performance today?
05:46What do you think the key reason to make the difference of the match?
05:50Because in the second set, you got a bunch of break points,
05:54but it didn't convert it.
05:55Thanks.
05:56Yeah, Tianwen, I think she has a very powerful game.
06:01She was, I find that she was dictating a lot,
06:05especially I think she had a really great forehand
06:07that was able to open up the court a lot easier than I could.
06:11And I think she has a really great serve, too.
06:14She has a lot of good accuracy, especially she was hitting a lot of lines.
06:19So, yeah, I think that also made a big difference.
06:22And I was not able to break as much as she was able to
06:27because I think she was just really serving very powerful
06:30and I couldn't really keep up with her speed on some of the shots.
06:35to have a great match.
