Leeds City Council has confirmed the dates for the latest stage of its £10.4m works along the A660 in Headingley which will see two junctions permanently closed to motor vehicles.

00:04It is of course Headingley, and it's undergoing major roadworks through to summer 2026.
00:09The next stage of the £10.4m A660 works will see a segregated inbound and outbound cycle track installed on both sides of the road.
00:19The pedestrian crossings outside the Arndale Centre and the original Oak Pub will become Toucan crossings,
00:26and the junctions at Hyde Park Corner and North Lane will be reconfigured.
00:30A 20mph speed limit will be introduced between Shore Lane and St Michael's Road,
00:35and there'll be wider pavements and continuous crossings at most junctions,
00:40with upgrades to bus stops and shelters, and better access to public transport outside the Arndale Centre.
00:46From Monday 16th June, the junction of St Michael's Road and the A660 will be permanently closed to all motor vehicles,

01:24with the route recording 172 casualties between 2016 and 2021.
