00:44Congratulations.
00:45Where did votre belief come from?
01:54a big momentum shift and then I felt like okay why not
01:56why just not keep swinging
01:57keep having you know a great
02:00depth on the balls
02:01and just see how it goes you know
02:03Were there times earlier in your career you think you might have
02:05given up more fully
02:06in this match than you did today
02:09You mean excuse me
02:10I mean like in other parts of your career when your mindset wasn't maybe as
02:13good that you would have sometimes down 6-2
02:156-2 would have just sort of tanked the third
02:17That's what I mean I wouldn't
02:19I'm not going to tank on a slam you know but I'm just saying
02:21that I was not
02:22I would stay there you know I'm 28 years
02:26old soon you know I've been for seven
02:28years in the top 50 and you know I know
02:29the game so if I have my chance I use it
02:32if I don't thank you very much you know Alex
02:33is a great player one of the most stable guys
02:36on tour right now and
02:38if you give me a chance I use it
02:39so he gave me a chance and I used it
02:42but nothing more to add you know if you
02:44would chop me 6-2 it's okay you know
02:46I'll be home
02:46Any more questions?
02:48Just trying to see whether there was any kind of
02:56tactical change in that third set because
02:59you had used I think you used the drop shot a bit less
03:03after the in the third set
03:05and went more for your you know using your power base game
03:09Yeah that might be true but you know like Alex was
03:12what the speed he was reaching you know
03:15that's unbelievable and I thought okay I mean
03:17I had a few chances I hit the forehand clean
03:20and I said okay today I feel the forehand good
03:21so let's just continue with it
03:23mix it up with a few drop shots and it worked well
03:25you know tennis is about you know winning the
03:28couple of crucial points which went my way today
03:31so I'm really happy with that
03:32Just ask about the entertainment value there was fabulous
03:36you really got the crowd on your side and you're giving it the bows
03:39and it looked as though you really enjoyed it out there
03:42Yeah obviously when you know you're coming back from the sets
03:44and you start feeling you know that there is a hope
03:46there is a hope that maybe he will give you
03:49certain points and certain mistakes
03:51then you just you know enjoy it more
03:53if you have a skill set to produce what I produced is good
03:55and obviously you know having a crowd behind me
03:57that's really really nice and it helped me a lot
04:01Alexander when you said a couple of tournaments ago
04:04that remember when tennis was easy
04:07like many many guys have been saying quite the same
04:10that the level is increasing
04:12I want to know if you want to go deeper and discuss a little bit
04:15you know we have a discussion with Gael Monfils in Dubai
04:18I was complaining I was losing I wasn't losing streak
04:21and I said Gael you know like it was so easy
04:22you know like it never happened that you know
04:25everyone's playing so good
04:26and he said he told me a really wise thought
04:29he said like you know Alex everyone become professional
04:31you know like now if you see everyone wakes up early
04:34they do their runs they do their treatments
04:36they do everything when I arrive on tour
04:38I mean there was like few guys who were you know
04:40really focused on doing their things
04:42I'm not speaking about the greats
04:43you know I'm speaking about Roger Ruff and
04:44and Novak I'm not speaking about them
04:47but in general population of let's say top 50 top 100 player
04:51there were guys who were enjoying you know their time
04:53and they were not having physios
04:55I mean there were guys without coaches
04:56and now just everyone is super professional
04:59and of course me I mean I'm not the most professional guy on the planet
05:03and for me it's just yeah
05:05just find a way to beat those guys
05:07when they're better at their routines like twice than I am
05:10so this was like with Gael we had
05:12and he said like you know you just wait for your chances
05:14you have your chances you use it
05:15if you waste it it's your problem
05:17and then I mean it's a bit changed my perspective
05:19because I stopped complaining a lot about that
05:21I mean only with Mohamed but it was just fun
05:23so yeah it changed a lot and as you can see
05:27like everyone is professional now
05:30which is concerning
05:30I believe we should have more room for fun
05:33but everyone's professional
05:36so it's quite tough to play tennis
05:37Sasha I'm sorry if this was asked right at the beginning
05:43you've had some big wins through your career
05:47this is the third time I think you've come back
05:50from two sets to love down to win
05:52with a result like that
05:54and the emotion in this sort of a match
05:57where would you rate it
05:58with some of the comebacks you've had
06:02I think it's definitely one of the best performances
06:06I did on a slam
06:07you know like game wise
06:09I had a similar match against Andre Rublev
06:11in Wimbledon for a round in 2023
06:13because slams are quite tough for me
06:16to be honest
06:17like I'm not really a fan of the format
06:19you know it's always like one day
06:20you play nine o'clock
06:21then you play eleven
06:22so for me I'm not really you know
06:24the guy who wakes up always at the same time
06:26you know do their things
06:27and so for me it's a bit tough
06:28to be on a slam and two week events
06:31but you know this win is
06:34I'm sure it's one of the best that I had
06:36on the slams and maybe overall on the tour
06:38because it's against Alex
06:40you know it's probably one of the most uncomfortable opponents for me
06:42he's overworking me you know
06:44overplaying me running for every shot
06:46doesn't give up you know
06:48and to be able to use my chances as I used it today
06:51so every chance that I had since the third set
06:53I used it
06:54and I won the match like this
06:56so yeah it's one of the most important wins
06:58that was one in English
07:01and just continuing on from that
07:03I know you can't sort of be in a situation of thinking
07:09I've got this till the last point is played
07:12but during the match
07:16was there any moment where you felt
07:19this is really going my way
07:21I can go ahead
07:22I can do this today
07:23I guess I know in the third set
07:26I was I mean he was playing unbelievable
07:27you know he was reaching all my drop shots
07:29I couldn't make a winner against him
07:31he was returning unbelievable
07:32and then I said okay
07:34I mean it's okay
07:35you know it's just a tennis match
07:36if I lose it I lose
07:37I go home as I said
07:38and then a certain moment
07:39he made a few mistakes
07:40he gave me the break
07:41and I said okay
07:42it's just a set
07:43you know maybe 6-2 in the fourth
07:45we'll be fine too
07:45and then he gave another break
07:47and then I slipped my surf
07:49and then I started fighting
07:50you know it was like fun
07:51and you know I woke up
07:52which is the most important thing
07:53because for me at 11 o'clock
07:54it's super complicated to play
07:55like I'm not waking up at that time
07:57like I'm usually like at 10
07:59at 9 I would wake up
08:00you know have my coffee
08:01speak to my family
08:03have play with my son
08:04you know like at 12
08:05I may be out of the apartment
08:07maybe
08:07not even sure
08:08that's not possible
08:09like at 11 o'clock for me
08:11so if I wake up
08:11then I can say okay
08:12how do I feel today
08:13I feel good
08:14I feel this and that
08:15so can I win this match
08:17against the opponent
08:19I have today
08:19with these tools
08:20that I feel the best today
08:21and I said yes
08:22I can
08:23so let's give it a try
08:24so and it worked out
08:25but in most of
08:27I mean of course
08:28and I was I said
08:29like you had to keep your surf
08:30against Alex
08:31in the third set
08:31when you're two sets
08:32to lock down
08:32and it's for me
08:33the key was to wake up
08:34and to use my chances
08:35as I said
