00:00A Penang PKR leader aligned with Rafizi Ramli says he will not step down as a state executive councillor following the former deputy president's resignation from the Cabinet.

00:12Fahmi Zainal told reporters that he intends to serve out his full term and fulfill his responsibilities, adding that he has no plans to resign.

00:21The Pantai Jeruja Assemblyman, who heads Penang's Agrotechnology, Food Security and Cooperative Development Committee, was defeated in Jelutong in the recent PKR division-level polls.

00:32Fahmi is one of two PKR ex-co members in the Penang government, the other being Deputy Chief Minister Wan, Muhammad Abdul Hamid.

00:40Rafizi, who lost the PKR Deputy President's post to Nurul Izzah Anwar, resigned as Economy Minister yesterday, saying it was inappropriate for a Cabinet post to be held by a non-party leader.

00:51Following this, Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nick Nazmi Nick Ahmad stepped down after failing to retain his Sitia Wangse PKR Chief position and Vice Presidency.
