00:00The Selangor branch of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry detained five
00:08men suspected of diesel fraud involving the use of subsidised fleet cards on Wednesday.
00:14The Ministry's State Director Mohammad Zuhairi Matradi said the suspects, aged between 30
00:19and 45, were arrested during a raid on an illegal storage facility in Serimuda, Section
00:2525.
00:26Authorities also seized a 30-ton tanker truck, four canvas trucks, two bonded trucks loaded
00:33with intermediate bulk containers or IBCs, a van and a modified prime mover.
00:39More than 7,000 litres of diesel were recovered from 14 IBC tanks, along with motorised pumps
00:45and hoses believed to have been used for the illegal extraction and transfer of fuel.
00:52The syndicate's modus operandi involved using fleet cards to purchase subsidised diesel at
00:57petrol stations around Shah Alam, before transporting it to the illegal storage site.
01:03The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
